Rage Play Tight Defensive Game But Fail Offensively

Waterbury-

With Rage leading scorer Steve Wegiel gone for three games, the Rage lost their best playmaker as well as a key part of the team as a whole.  Without Steve Wegiel, the Rage had to find playmaking from another source.  They couldn't seem to find that.

At the end of the first, the score was tied 0-0.  In the second, Goin Postal jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by players that should have been covered.  Then Darek Wegiel made it 2-1 with his fifth goal of the season, leading the team in that department, the lone assist on the goal went to Steve Roman.

In the third period, Goin Postal came at the Rage hard, throwing their weight around, giving them an edge which lead to a 3-1 lead.  Highlights of the third period included the steady defensive play of Jay Allen and Andy Audet, who kept Goin Postal scoreless on many great third period opportunities.

All in all, the Rage went down by the score 3-1.  The Rage have a do or die final stretch.  They are in action against Black Pride on saturday, a team oozing with offensive talent.  Players like Andy Audet, Chris Kelly, Mike Roy, and Mike Lavoie must step it up on the blueline and the forwards must play defense.

On Sunday, the Rage play the Firefighters, the team they are fighting with for the final playoff spot, this is another must win game.  If the Rage can manage to win their final four games (two of which are against the Firefighters) they should secure the final spot in the playoffs.
