Well, so you want to know a little about myself huh? Well, as you may have noticed, my real name is Sharon Mossy. My nickname is Velociraptor or just Raptor. For most, Raptor is easier to say and to type.

I haven't been drawing Velociraptors for half as long as I have had a passion for them. I have always loved dinosaurs - ever since I was like 7 years old. My favorites were always the carnivors like T-Rex and Velociraptors. As I grew up, my favorite dinosaur quickly became the Velociraptor. I just thought they were awesome creatures and I always wondered what it would be like with them around today - most likely one scary place!

Once I saw Jurassic Park, I immediately knew that my all-time favorite dinosaur was the Velociraptor. I loved Jurassic Park because the dinosaurs seemed so realistic and I loved the whole concept of a theme park like Jurassic Park. Once I saw the movie, I decided to try my hand at drawing my own Velociraptors - and what luck!

I've only been drawing Raptors for about 6 or 7 months now and I don't think they look that bad at all. My favorite part about drawing Velociraptors is adding the stripes to them. I love experimenting with new stripe patterns and stuff like that.

I put this site together to not 'show off' my work per say, but to let everyone out there in the cyber world know that Velociraptors are cool dinosaurs and that they once lived on this very earth. I want people to look at my drawings and wonder, "Is that really what they may have looked like?" Now, granted, my drawings are not exactly what Velociraptors looked like, but I can use my imagination. After all, no one has ever seen a Velociraptor anyway, so I'm violating no rules or anything like that.

All my drawings are done with No. 2 soft lead pencil and as you can see, most are just sketched on ordinary notebook paper. I haven't done many "full-bodied" Raptors for the simple fact that they take so much time to complete. But when I do a "full-bodied" one, I find that I like them more than just the sketches and it makes me want to do more "full-bodied" ones.

As for myself, I'm now (as of June 15th) a graduate of Ledyard High School, which is in Connecticut, USA. My next step in life is college. I'll be attending Becker College in MA, and my major will be Veterinary Science. I enjoy many things in life: music (groups like Van Halen, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vertical Horizon, etc), movies (The Lion King, Face-Off, Braveheart), video games (Playstation mostly - Gran Turismo, The Lost World, Driver), being outdoors (fishing, camping, hiking), and I love animals. I have several animals myself, including 7 cats, a turtle, a dog, a rabbit, and 6 fish. I also love computers and I work with building web sites in my spare time. And one other of my "obessions" would be my car. I just bought it this past May, and I absolutely love it! It's a 1988 Chevrolet Camaro equipped with t-tops. I love to work on it, cleaning the interior and exterior and keeping the engine all in check.

If you have any comments, suggestions, alerts to something that is not working, concerns, or questions, either e-mail me (velociraptor@snet.net) or sign my guestbook on the main page.

Thank you once again for stopping by and please, come again soon, for I may have inducted more members into my pack...

~Velociraptor~
