STRATFORD YMCA GUIDE SYSTEM OF FEATHER AWARDS



RED ~ For memorizing the purpose, slogan and aims of the "Y" Indian Guides.

BLUE ~ For memorizing the Indian names of all the members of the tribe.

PURPLE ~ For completing the coup stick to hold the awards.

GREEN ~ For naming and identifying 5 birds, 5 flowers and 3 constellations which
Should be made in booklet form and reported on at a tribal meeting.


WHITE ~ For personal care award. (After having completed the personal care chart)

YELLOW ~ For completing a hobby collection and giving a report on it at a tribal meeting.
To be earned in his third year.)

ORANGE ~ For completing his section of the totem pole.

BROWN ~ For completing the requirements of a swimmer as follows:
7 years and under - 2 widths of the pool with a slight (no more the 30 sec) pause between crossings.
8 years old - to be able to float on back one minute and two widths of pool with no pause.
9 years and older - same as 8 year old plus tread water for 2 minutes, dive off edge of the pool and dive off diving board or platform.


BLACK ~ For completing all of the above awards.
The black feather will only be presented at the opening or campout ceremony.
