Cub Scout Pack 15's Community Service Project is to raise
money for a life-saving Thermal Imaging Camera. The hand-held device, which
resembles a video camera, measures temperature rather than light, so firefighters can "see"
through smoke and even into or through some walls, to find people or to locate areas of fire.
The units could also save firefighters from being killed or seriously injured.
Cub Scout Pack 15 delivered hundreds of flyers by door-to-door.
Later, we pasted thousands of mailing labels onto a city-wide bulk-mailing.
The barometer of the collections to date may be seen at the south-east corner
of Highridge Road and the Merit Parkway in Stamford, Connecticut.
Help the Turn of River Fire Company SAVE LIVES
We are trying to raise the $17,000 necessary
to purchase a state-of-the-art THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA.
This will enable out volunteer fire fighters to
quickly find victims trapped in smoke filled buildings.
The camera is for the protection of the 7,000 families in our fire district.
Please mail your check for $10 to:
