Edinburgh and Arriving at Camp

The boys all spent Monday with the host families, and it appears many of them were taken into Edinburgh. Tuesday morning we all boarded our bus and headed up to the Jamborette. Now the saga begins.

You will notice that many of the boys were tired from home stay. We traveled with a small Japanese unit and our friends from Poland. The boys have started making friends with the Polish unit, especially some of our older boys.

Arrival at camp was an exercise in rapid unloading, quick check-in, locating both sub-camps, and adjusting. New bonding with the Scottish scouts in each patrol was quite rapid, and in some cases very friendly already. Our boys seem to be in coed units.

The opening ceremony had everyone up and dancing, and the opening sub-camp campfires had everyone singing and cheering. All in all a very exciting first day was had by all.

Our website is now being viewed by families in Scotland and Poland as well as in the United States, so our pictorial will be expanding.

This site will take a while to download, so apologies, but enjoy.

If this is Monday it must be Edinburgh
