RGOTC Development

One of the core objectives of the Omani Government has been Omanisation - the establishment of a base of qualified omanis needed to replace expatriates employed in various technical fields within the RGO, other Security/defense department and Civil Sectors of the country. As part of this Omanisation policy, the Royal Guard Boys Technical school was established in 1976 to provide a training environment where young omanis could combine technical studies with a full academic programme.

The school has passed through several stages in its transition to the present status of Royal Guard of Oman Technical College (RGOTC). The college has always employed highly qualified and experienced teachers and made use of the modern, sophisticated training facilities to ensure students successfully complete their courses of study. All technical subjects are delivered through the English medium.

Recently, there has been an expansion of electronics and computer facilities at the college. In addition the library has completely re-organized to include self-access , multimedia study facilities in keeping with the requirements of courses at the college.
