About the Site

Rey Ordonez, Acrobat In Spikes was started in June of 2000, shortly after Rey Ordonez's season ending injury to his forearm. The most important reason for it being started was the simple truth of how the internet lacked a valuable source for the phenominal defensive gem. In the two years it has been around, the site has over gone two complete transformations, the latest one most definitely the better. It is now complete with frames and brand new pictures of Rey. It is updated regularly.

Meet Melissa (Web Master)

AOL/AIM Screen names: SongDoveNYM

At sixteen (May 29th) years old, Melissa credits herself to be a devoted New York Mets fan, among other things. At twelve years old, by chance, she found herself seated at Shea Stadium and it was there that the love began. To Melissa, baseball is so much more than a game, in many ways, it metaphorically correlated with life. It is in baseball that she has found an interchanged alternative, an escape. It is one of her passions and she looks forward for the many seasons of life and baseball to come.

Outside of baseball, Melissa has a true love for singing as well as acting. While she says she doesn't plan on having a careeer in either, performing has become a special way for her to express herself. Melissa enjoys immensly reading the works of Shakespeare as well as writing. Another thing that is very important to her is her unique and personalized way of connecting to her beliefs of divinity and empyrean. A whimsical, loving person, Melissa keeps her head up high, ever ready for life and its sinuous paths.

Meet Idali (Photographer)

AOL/AIM screen names: Idali1088 (AOL)

One of the most essential components of the site, Idali joined the staff in August of 2001. Starting out as a writer, it was learned that her expertise would better benefit the photography and it is because of her that Rey Ordonez, Acrobat In Spikes enjoys their own array of photos. As an avid Mets' fan and one of the most adhered Rey Ordonez fans, Idali spends lots of time at Shea stadium, ready to catch our hero in action and has had the distinct pleasure of meeting him.

Nineteen year old Idali is in her freshman year on a scholarship to a very good New York college. She plans to major in sports' managment and eventually make her way through the system and as a premiere general manager. Bright and witty, Idali has a great future ahead of her. She is a big time Brooklyn Cyclones' fan and even knows several of the future Mets' stars personally. She is also a big Juan Guerra fan.
