From The Desk Of Douglas Dearborne....

Hello everyone and welcome once again to my weekly article. I want to focus this week on a particular two way subject, Untrained Wrestlers/Unexperienced Promoters. Due to most states not having any form of athletic commission or regulations pertaining to professional wrestling, it gives people the opportunity to call themselves wrestlers, managers, promoters, or anything else, when they really are not. There are a great number of individuals who claim these titles who have never been trained or shown how to promote. Long term, this damages the reputation of the independent circuit. People go on planning to see an exciting card only to end up watching some poorly operated event making them not wanting to come back. This has become a very serious problem within the past five years. With being years in the business myself, I have received the unfortunate opportunity to meet some of these people and it makes me sick. Since we receive on average about 500 hits a week on this website, I thought I would take the time to address this issue and make everyone aware. Not all independent promotions are bad, not all independent performers are bad, just some are, and those some should look in the mirror for a good laugh.
