NEWS UPDATE!!!!!!>10.14.03>

Hello everybody! I'd like to announce that I've come to a decision.  In the next several weeks I will be making some big changes to this website.  This time I mean it.  I know I said it a couple months ago, but this time I mean it.  The new website will look very similar, but slightly better and less confusing.  It's primary focus will be videos and pictures.  There will also be a section where anybody that wants too can post their own video, pictures, music, artwork, announcements, etc.  The official members of Riceminers Entertainment have evolved some, so expect some changes there too.  Everything else that you find here now will still be available, just organized differently.  The changes may take a while to come, so please be patient, but riceminers.com will definitely be re-launched before the end of the year.

Filmage Updatery! (Movie Update)>10.14.03>

To tell you the truth we've had a lot of disappointments and let-downs in our attempts to bring you new movies over the course of the summer.  I'll start with the Actors Colony Inn thing.  We filmed a lot of interviews, obtained footage of the fire, and got pretty far with it.  All we needed was a Dom interview and the result of the investigation.  Neither ever came, and now Dom's hundreds of miles away.  Then there is "Havana Affair".  Not sure what happened with this one, it just never happened.  We never were able to find somebody that would fit the lead role good and before we knew it the summer was over.  But with the "Hey" music video, we actually had some luck.  We finished filming it early this summer and it is now ready to be released and will be available as soon as this website is re-launched.  That's the news for now.  Check back soon!

Flash Mobs>8.23.03>

Starting this fall Riceminers Entertainment will begin organizing Flash Mobs across southern New England.  Flash mobs are sudden gatherings of people at a predetermined location at a predetermined time. People in flash mobs usually perform according to a written script, then disperse quickly. Flash mobs can be for many purposes but most groups stick to having fun.  Initially, the mobs will be run at SCSU, ECSU, and in the Providence, RI area.  To participate in the first flash mob, send an email with your name, age, and location to sean@riceminers.com

New Videos Added>5.28.03>

Today I've added four new videos to the video section.  You can either watch the high speed, or low speed videos, or just download them by right clicking on the download link and clicking on "save target as".  The New videos include a clip from Camping at Black Rock in 2001, Anna drinking Hot Sauce, and Jamo giving an order at McDonalds.  More will come later this week keep checking back.  Also keep checking for an upcoming "Havana Affair" update, some new buddy icons, and new pictures.

The Summer Movie: "Havana Affair">5.14.03>

"PT-boat on the way to Havana
I used to make a living, man
Pickin' the banana.
Now I'm a guide for the CIA
Hooray for the USA!"

That's our inspiration for this summer's big movie: "Havana Affair".  The general idea is Fidel Castro and his government are planning on selling weapons of mass destruction to terrorists.  Castro tries to cover it up by throwing a talent show while the deal is going down.  The CIA catches on, and uses an insider from Havana to get to the talent show and prevent the deal from happening.  We still have a lot of stuff to work out.  Casting should begin early next week, then filming will hopefully start by the end of May.  This movie will be a musical and will be longer than our past movies.  It should be a good one.

Band Search>5.08.03>

We are currently searching for unsigned bands with an original, and unique sound.  These artists will get a shot at being signed with Elementree Records, a division of Epic Records, which is run by Korn's Jonathan Davis.  Elementree's goal is to bring original, ground-breaking acts into the spotlight.  Some Elementree artists have included Orgy, Deadsy, Videodrone, and Marz.  This offer is open to all genre's of music, especially to all types of rock and rap acts.  If you are in a band or know of a band, do not hesitate to send in a demo, as all submissions will be reviewed by Elementree Records.  All submissions will also receive heavy promotion on this site as well.  If interested, send an email containing your name, the bands name, a picture, a link to the bands website, and any other information you can think of to Riceminers@hotmail.com.  You will receive a confirmation email as well as information on how to submit a demo.

A New Era>5.05.03>

Plans for this summer have started to roll in.  We are looking to really get Riceminers Entertainment going this year and get it off the ground.  One possible idea is hosting a battle of of the bands at a TBA location under the name "Riverpalooza".  We have a group of six people exploring that idea, and it could be a huge promotional tool.  We still haven't decided on our big summer movie, but we have a really good side project thats already under way.  Keep your eyes glued to the streets, because you might just end up in it.  Also, some new and some old names will be coming into the Riceminers family this summer.  These people promise to give us the boost we need to get this thing going.  We are looking for new talent and ideas.  This summer as Riceminers Entertainment enters a new and improved era, don't miss your opportunity to become a part of it.

Summer Movie>5.03.03>

The summer is coming and it can't go by without making at least one big movie.  Many ideas have been mentioned over the past month, but we haven't decided on one yet.  Some of the ideas mentioned have been doing the prophecy video (which can actually be done pretty quickly, so that could be a side project,) Justin's idea for a musical about an Irish Immigrant, or just filming everything we do this summer with about 5 cameras and calling it "The Real Derby".  Another option, which is probably the best, is to sit down and come up with something from scratch.  Besides this main project, the Actors Colony video needs to be completed, as well as the "Hey" music video.  Leave your ideas on the message board or in the guestbook.

Crazy Idea of the Week>5.01.03>

There were many crazy ideas this week, including Shane's magical money bucket game, and learning how to burn ourselves with table salt.  But what stands out the most in my mind, is my idea to do a prophecy video.  Not that it's the craziest or best idea of the week, because we all know that Shane's Magical Bucket is far more crazier, but it's just more important because I have control of this website.  So anyway I'm thinking that all us Riceminer folk do this video that is a documentary about us in the year 2060.  We decide what we think we'd be doing by that time, then everybody else gives their opinion about it, then we play ourselves.  Good way to poke fun at ourselves.  Leave your ideas in the guestbook.

Since I made fun of Shanes Bucket of Wonders, I'll draw some attention to it so he can get some input.  Here is Shane's description of the game:

"JASFAIH...that's the name.  It's an east side/west side rivalry. The object is to steal a pot of money from the opposing team and hold on to the pot for as long as you can. Which ever team controls the pot at the end of the summer wins the pot."

Anybody that has any suggestions regarding rules and regulations for the game, or is interested in participating, should leave a post in the guestbook.

Destruction of Actors>4.30.03>

The charred remains of Actors Colony Inn have begun to be removed.  Although the fire occurred just a few months short of one year ago,  the debris from the fire remained until this week to aid in the investigation.  Larry's Landing opened for business this week, serving hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and seafood. Larry's is located directly behind the remains of Actors Colony right along the river.  Go check it out, It's really good food.

Caolfarmers Handed Over>4.30.03>

As of April 27th at exactly 9:23 AM, control of the Coalfarmers was handed over to Kevin Henri and his following of squeaky voiced friends.  Much enthusiasm was expressed by Geronimo, who said "Gee Golly friend, thats a swell idea!  Hoo Hoo Hoo bless me whiskers!"  And with that, the deal was done.  They have a month to make a movie, if they don't membership will be promptly removed.

Riceminers VS. MPPVW>4.21.03

Yesterday afternoon Riceminers Entertainment invaded MPPVW at the pay per view entitled "Hellbound" at Norton Arena. Here's what Joe "Unforgiven" Gabs had to say. "MPPVW now has a new Heavyweight Champion. TnT stole the belt from long time holder Unforgiven in a grueling match. The huge show of Sean Henri (owner of Riceminers) and his 3 men Unforgiven, Iceman , and Manager bring a dominant force to MPPVW. It looks like Justin will have his hands filled the new Riceminers ERA."

Profile Change>4.19.03

The profiles section will be changed soon to be more personalized and have new, updated pictures.  Some people have drifted away from Riceminers while some others have gotten more involved, so exactly who is included in the profile section will be reviewed.  Check back later this weekend.

MPPVW Re-Launched>4.18.03>

After teaming up with Riceminers Entertainment last month, a new and improved website was quickly put together.  With help from Sean Henri, webmaster of riceminers.com, Joe Gabs has re-launched the official MPPVW website:  www.mppvw.cjb.net  The new website has an all new layout, improved member profiles, and will soon include video from Pay-Per Views, and a V.I.P. section.

New Slideshow Added>3.25.03>

Today I put together a slideshow of pictures.  It includes pictures from over the years, as well as some new pictures that will appear on this site later this week from the blizzard, Nick's B-Day, and the St. Patrick's Day Parade.  It features two new Linkin Park songs from their new album Meteora called "Faint" and "Nobody's Listening."  To view  it click below.

Chat Scheduled>3.15.03>

Spring break is coming and we need to take advantage of the fact that almost everybody is going be home for the week.  I'm looking to make something really good that could be done in a day or two so I can get the video online by the end of the week.  So this Thursday night at 10 P.M., everybody is welcome to come join the chatroom to discuss ideas for what we can film next week or any other suggestions for the future of Riceminers.  This will also be a good time to discuss any opinions or suggestions that you have for the website, such as profile changes, pictures you'd like to add, or anything else that could make this website better.

Riceminers.com Launched>3.13.03>

I decided to spend some money and buy a domain name.  So as of Thursday, March 13th, the site has changed from riceminers.cjb.net to riceminers.com, making it a whole lot easier to remember.  You'll also notice the lack of pop-up ads, quicker loading, much less faulty links, and an all-around better website.

Running this website isn't cheap, and I make no profit from it.  So if you like Riceminers and feel like making any kind of donation email me at Sean@riceminers.com  Thanks to Josh for his donation.

The Lost Pictures>3.13.03>

Since August 2002, several hundred pictures previously available on Riceminers were removed without any type of advanced warning.  Many of these pictures have been lost for good, but many were just misplaced in all of the confusion, and forgotten about until I recently stumbled across them. About half of those pictures that weren't deleted for good, have been added to the Newest Pics section.  The rest will be added as they come up.  All the thumbnails that have not been working will now work.  If you have a pic you'd like posted, send it to Sean@riceminers.com.

Blizzard.Daniel>2.17.03>

The entire state of Connecticut was hammered with huge snowstorm this Presidents Day, dumping more than 2 feet of snow in Derby.  Riceminers Entertainment was out with their video cameras catching all the action, and the effect it had on the community.  Watch this news report featuring Sean Henri, Justin Henri, and Chris Graham, by clicking on the picture below.  Also check out some of our other newest videos, including "So Happy Together" from "The Spanish Project".Watch "Weather Alert!" Now!

DVD.In.The.Works>2.16.03>

Picture.Problems>2.16.03>

Since August 2002, several hundred pictures previously available on Riceminers were removed without any type of advanced warning.  Many of these pictures have been lost for good, but many were just misplaced in all of the confusion, and forgotten about until I recently stumbled across them.  These forgotten pictures will be added within a few weeks, and any remaining thumbnails with faulty links will be removed.  I apologize for the length of time there have been problems with the pictures, and hopefully the problem can be fixed for good.  If you have any picutures you'd like to see on Riceminers feel free to email them.

MPPVW.Awards>2.11.03>

The first annual MPPVW Choice Awards were held on February 7th, 2003 at the Gabbinelli Memorial Building in Derby, Ct. The big buzz of the night was who was going to receive the highly respected "Best Wrestler" award.  The nominees included Shane "Iceman" Norton, Joe Gabbinelli a.k.a. Unforgiven, Nugget, and Chris "Napalm" Graham.  After two hours of awards being handed out, "Iceman" was announced as MPPVW's "Best Wrestler" of the year.  Another notable achievement was "SweetMeats" countless awards that he received throughout the night.  Pictures from the show will be added soon.

More.Videos.Added>2.11.03>

Sorry for the lack of new videos over the past several weeks.  To make up I've added 4 new videos and more will go up this week.  In the Video Section you will find "So Happy Together" from The Spanish Project, and a clip of Steve Bailey doing ballet on the steps of Ansonia City Hall during the summer of 2001 at 2:00 in the morning.  The Christmas Greeting that was featured on this website a month ago has also been added, as well as a tribute to the best song in the world featuring music by Tenacious D and starring Steve Bailey and Justin Henri.

Actors.Colony.Project.Moving.Along.Smoothly>2.11.03>

More than a half of a year has passed since Actors Colony Inn, a strong supporter of Riceminers Entertainment, mysteriously burned to the ground.  The charred remains stand to this day as the investigation continues into what caused the fire.  In the weeks following the fire, Justin Henri announced Riceminers Ent. would be making a documentary that would be a tribute to Actors Colony Inn, featuring exclusive interviews with former Actors Colony employees, offering an insiders look at the history of Actors, leading up to the fire that claimed the business in July of 2002.  We recently took more interviews, and have obtained exclusive video and pictures of Actors Colony Inn on fire.  Although the documentary is going to be serious, it will still be filled with laughs.
