Love Grows Copyright Squaresoft Characters Cloud missed her. The cute way she acted. The bright smiles she gave him. Cloud missed Aeris. He knew no one could replace her. No one. Cloud was depressed ever since her death. Tifa did her best to comfort him because she knew she loved him with all her heart. It's been a month since the team have beaten Sephiroth and stopped the comet from destroying earth. Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Red XIII, Cid, Yuffie, Vincent, and Cait Sith were heroes and were honored around the world. Tifa had restored 7th Heaven in her hometown of Nibelheim. The team would celebrate and relax there everyday. Everyone was happy except Cloud... Cloud would spend his days sitting on the hills in Mt. Nibel thinking of Aeris. He stared in the beautiful sunset as it flashed across the evening sky. "Why can't I just foget about her? The pain is too strong though..." Cloud thought. He felt the soft grass against his hands and leaned against a rock. A tear rolled down his cheek. "Why can't I get rid of this pain?!" Cloud's mind raced. He put his head in his hands and sobbed quietly. "Where's Cloud? I haven't seen him a lot lately...I wonder what's happening to him..." Tifa thought. Tifa was busily serving people in her bar. It was the evening and Tifa was tired. She was going to close soon. As she closed the bar, her friends walked in. Cid and Barret were drunk as usual, Yuffie was always happy, Vincent always cold, Red just calm, and Cait Sith as him happy self. They all sat down and rested. Suddenly Cloud walked in. Everyone greeted him as he managed a weak smile. "Hey Cloud, can I get you anything?" Tifa asked. Cloud just nodded his head sadly. "I'm O-Ok..." Cloud responded. "Are you sure? You don't look so good, here I'll get you a drink." Tifa said. "Tifa I said I'am alright! Are you deaf?! Can you understand me?! Dammit Tifa this ain't a game! I'm in pain and all you can do is add more pain and annoyance to me?! I can take care of myself! I'm not a crippled person! Tch! Look at you guys! You're all drunk, partying, having fun! All of you have become weak and stupid! None of this would happen if Aeris was here!" Cloud shouted. Everyone was shocked, especially Tifa. Cloud then stomped off back to his house and shut the bar door behind him. Tifa broke down and started crying, she never heard Cloud say such things to her. Red came over to comfort her, but it was no use. "Leave me alone! Just leave you guys," Tifa sobbed. Everyone left leaving Tifa sobbing alone. "What happened to the old Cloud I used to know? He was so lovable....but now he has changed..." Tifa thought. She wiped her eyes and got up. She saw a picture of her and Cloud laughing and having fun at the Gold Saucer. The picture was hanging on the wall of the bar and Tifa would look at it everyday, remembering those fun times. "Cloud...Where are you? You don't understand that I love you..." Tifa thought looking at the picture. She turned off the lights in the bar and exited. She locked the door behind her. Tifa started making her way to the old well she and Cloud use to talk all the time. She climbed up and sat down. She looked up in the night sky. The stars were shining brightly in the dark blue sky. "It's such a beautiful night...If you were only here to share this with me Cloud..." Tifa thought. A tear started forming in her eye and it rolled down her cheek. Cloud was holding a picture of Aeris in his hands. He sat down on his bed and continued staring at the picture. "I miss you so much Aeris...I know what i'm going to do...I'm gonna kill myself...so I can see you again..." Cloud thought. He got up and headed toward the drawer where he kept his sword. He picked up his buster sword and looked at it. "This will be the last time I see everyone...Last time I will feel any pain...Last time I will see my hometown..." Cloud thought. He looked outside from his window and saw Tifa crying on the well. Cloud's heart sunk. "Tifa...I forgot about you..." Cloud thought. Cloud suddenly felt really bad for what he had said to her and his friends earlier in the day. "What am I doing? I can't go yet...I have to apologize to Tifa." Cloud thought. Cloud walked to the well where Tifa was. Tifa hadn't noticed him because she was too busy crying. Cloud silently climbed up and approached her from behind. "Tifa is so beautiful..." Cloud noticed as the moon light shone on her face. He started to reach for her, but decided not to. He instead decided to talk to her. "Tifa?" Cloud whispered. He startled her and she jumped up. "C-Cloud?" Tifa stammered. She started to back away from him. "Tifa...Look i'm-" Cloud started. "Get away from me!" Tifa shouted with tears in her eyes. She started running from Cloud, but he grabbed her arm. "Tifa hold on a minute...I just want to say sorry...for what i had said to you...I uh...feel real bad about what I said." Cloud managed to say. Tifa turned around to look into his beautiful mako eyes. She then hugged him tightly and softly cried in his shoulder. Cloud didn't know what to do, so he just hugged her back. "Tifa..." Cloud thought as he closed his eyes enjoying the moment. "Wait, why am I hugging him? He's the one that hurted you!" Tifa's mind raced. She started backing away from Cloud. "No! no...your not Cloud...you're not the Cloud I know..." Tifa stammered. She then ran away. "Wait Tifa!" Cloud shouted. "Dammit! Why do I always do this?! Why do I always hurt the ones closest to me?!" Cloud thought. "Things would be so different if you were here Aeris..." Cloud looked up in the night sky remembering Aeris. *You don't see many flowers around here.* *Oh would you like one? They're only 1 gil.* *Sure* *Cloud....* "Damn...I can't take this anymore! I'm gonna see you soon Aeris..." Cloud thought. He sighed and walked off back to his house. Back at his house, Cloud again picked up his buster sword. "No more pain..." Cloud thought. He brought the sharp end of the sword toward his heart. "This is it..." Cloud thought sadly. "Cloud don't!" A voice shouted. "Tifa? How'd she get in?" Cloud thought. "What are you doing Cloud?" Tifa said. "I'm gonna end this pain right here right now!" Cloud shouted. "Why are you doing this?" "I'm gonna see Aeris again! She's the only one that can relieve the pain!" "Don't do this Cloud...Your're gonna lose a lot of things! You'll be leaving your friends!" "I don't care! No one cares! I only care about Aeris!" "Cloud...I care about you..." "Ha! Yeah right! You just don't want me to go huh? You want to see me in pain everyday huh? You want to use me as your little toy!" "That's not true...Cloud...I love you..." Tifa whispered. Cloud froze. He was shocked. "Is it true?" Cloud thought. He looked in Tifa's wet eyes. He saw love and passion in those eyes. Cloud could tell she was telling the truth by her eyes. "Tifa...I-I can't do this..." Cloud thought. He realized that he loved her too. She had saved him from himself. She helped him find the inner him. "I thought no one can replace Aeris...but Tifa can...She can be more than Aeris ever was. I love Tifa Lockheart." Cloud thought. *Tell her* *Huh?* *Tell her you love her* "Tifa...I-I love you too." Cloud whispered. He dropped his sword and tears were rolling down his cheeks. Tifa ran up to him and hugged him. They both cried and held each other tightly. They then looked into each other's eyes. "Cloud...I always will love you...I loved you since our childhood days..." Tifa whispered. "Tifa...I love you too, you helped me go through so much pain...I can't lose you...you're the most important thing in my life..." Cloud said. They then kissed each other. They both closed their eyes."This is it...This is where I want to be..." Cloud thought as they kissed. Thogether, hand in hand, they walked out to the old well. They sat down and held each other throughout the night. The stars shone brightly above them as a shooting star raced across the sky...
