Backstreet Will Prevail

March 21, 2000 - Midnight: Girls are lining up at local record stores nationwide - wearing their Nsync pajamas and $15 in hand. They're waiting for the lights to turn on, the doors to open, and thousands of copies of *N SYNC's latest album to surround them. As soon as the doors open, the girls will run through the store to the "No Strings Attached" display.

This is the scene that MTV will air on the March 21, 2000 edition of TRL. This was the scene that was shown on the May 18, 1999 TRL. The difference was, in 1999 it was for the new Backstreet Boys album, "Millennium."

The weeks following the release of Millennium were purely spectacular. Millennium broke Garth Brook's record for selling the most copies of an album in the first week. It sold 500,000 in the first day. Millennium wasn't even released in the Christmas buying season like Brook's was, Millennium was relea sed in the so called, "off season."

History is about to repeat itself. Contrary to what BSB fans hope, N Sync WiLL break that record again. Why? Its simple. *N SYNC have the upper hand. They KNOW what number they have to beat. They WANT to beat it, and they've let their fans know it. Will their fans let them down? Of course not.

Am i, being a Backstreet fan, agry? Not in the least. When it happens, sure i'll be sad. I'll probably even drop a tear or two. But really, i have no reason to be angered. Backstreet released Millennium in May '99 for the sole purpose of "to make the fans happy." They knew we wanted, NEEDED a new album. They gave it to us. They released a world wide phenominon of a hit single, "I Want It That Way". The boy band new releases were dry at the time, and took the song some time to make it [it only got to 145 radio stations in two weeks ... unlike NSYNC who made 200]. But once it got momentum, it kept going. Some say it would have even gone to number one had they released it. Mi llennium is still a hot album, and pop music is as strong as ever. All the more reason for *N SYNC's album to do well. Its again, what we like to call, "a ready made market". Its the same principal that made bsb famous in Europe. Take That had just broken up, leaving room for a new group. BSB was that new group. In the US, Hanson and Spice had just taken the nation by storm. What was missing? An all boy singing group. BSB was that group. With BSB's popularity on the rise, *N SYNC came in using all the techniques BSB used. The difference? BSB came first, making it EASiER for *N SYNC. Guess what guys? History is about to repeat itself.

With a few thousand NEW *N SYNC - EX Backstreet fans that left "our side" with the recent news of engagement in the Backstreet camp ... *N SYNC will BREAK THE RECORD. With a plan to buy TWO albums in the first week, *N SYNC will BREAK THE RECORD.

When you Backstreeters see the numbers for N Sync's album, Don't fret. Its partially our fault. We set the mold. BSB didnt ASK us to make their album number one. They didnt ASK us to beat any records [unlike *N SYNC which have been QUOTED]. We just DiD it. We showed the world we COULD do it. And because WE paved the way, we have to put up with those who follow. Just like Backstreet has to. And what do i say about the EX Backstreeters NEW *N SYNCers? ... i say to *N SYNC + their fans: you guys can HAVE them! We DON'T want em, we DON'T need em! We only need TRUE fans to keep the Backstreet Pride Alive.

And don't forget, when N Sync *beat* our boys in one victory, we could always laugh and say: "They asked for it [LITTRELLY ]" ...

P.S. Backstreet fans get out of the way, we'll come back to fight ANOTHER day!
