Info for the curious

I plan to make this a site for the curious people who are just starting the wiccan religion and also for people who are curious as to what wicca is.

~the stereotype~
Pagans or witches as we are also called, are thought of as bad and evil people who worship the devil. Hopefully in the near future that will change. Non-Pagan people confuse the devil's sign with the wiccan sign. The devil's sign has the point of the star facing to the ground. Meanwhile, the wiccan star has the point pointing towards the sky.
Pagans don't even believe in the devil though we are polytheistic, which means we belive in more than one god. We believe in the God and the Goddess. Other Pagans believe in some other Gods/Goddesses from the Greek and Egyptian religions.
Even though we don't believe in the devil, doesn't mean we don't think evil exists. We believe there is such thing as "black" and "white" magic. Black magic means magic that is bad. Like for example hexing some one because you're mad at them or a spell that plays with someones feelings. White magic would be good magic or doing a protection spell on a person so he/she stops bothering you. That doesn't hurt the person, it just gets them off your back.
In my opinion, a Pagan who does black magic should not be considered a Pagan. A Pagan, to me, is a person who does magic to harm none. Witches have gotten a bad name because of those who have done bad. The problem with the public is that they don't see the good side. We always critisize. It's a form of human habit. Every one has it and one of our goals in life should be to try to control our anger and crisism. We should critisize ourselves before we critisize others.

~basic information~
Pagans believe, like I told you, the God and the Goddess. We are more intune with nature and everything that the God and Goddess give us. A witch must follow the rule of Three Fold. This is a rule witches go by, whatever energy you send out will come back to you three times more powerful. If it's something like healing energy, later in life you might get better from something three times as worse because of something you sent out earlier. If it's bad energy then something three times worse will happen. Other than the rule of Three Fold, Pagans believe in not harming people in general. It's bad Karma and just not nice!

~Classifying~
I started out being Wiccan but overtime I did research on religions surrounding Wicca. I understood quite a bit better about the whole classifying thing. Here's the deal, Paganism is a general religion and you can specify what you are by saying you're Wiccan, Druid, etc. I have been reading up on Druidism and some of their beliefs and traditions are some I'd like to adopt. Then if someone asked me what religion I was I could say:
-Pagan= because that's the general religion
-Wiccan= because I follow some of their beliefs
-Druid= because I follow some of their beliefs too
-Eclectic= which means a person who takes different beliefs and puts them together to make one totally comfortable religion.

~The Balance~
One of the things I find great about Paganism is that it is balanced. The God and Goddess are the example which branch off into others. The God and Goddess keep the sexs in balance. Then the creations, that the God and Goddess made and will make, are and will be in balance as well. An example of that would be fairies. I don't know about you but when I thought of fairies, before I researched them, I thought they were all nice and kind in every way. Well...some of them are. But what makes good so great if there isn't any bad? Soo...there are bad fairies too. They are mischevious and don't have the best morals. Another and Last example would be birth and death. Birth is good(obviously) and death is somewhat bad. So that pretty much sums up the balance outline...but here's a picture which reminds me of it:

This is all the info I have typed for today but check back every so often for updates!
