The next stop after the Hartford town line was Bloomfield. At the site of the old Bloomfield Depot, the passenger station is gone, but the freight station remains, as seen below:

I absolutely love this picture, because seeing a boxcar from the Tidewater on a railroad that was all but abandoned a few years ago is great. The station is in pretty good shape; when this picture was taken in March of 2002 it was being used to store hay. One year later, the RR crossing at Bloomfield Center is the last crossing on the CNE not to have lights installed:

The sign cautions drivers "DO NOT STOP ON TRACKS" Trackage is down north of Bloomfield Center north to Griffin, on Culboro Tobacco Company property.
