Adrian is one of the few players remaining from the Ronnie Whelan era, and was snapped up in July 1997 after a successful loan spell from Arsenal. A wing player, comfortable with either foot, who has struggled to break into the side this year despite having a good 1997/98 campaign. When he has played, he has often been off form, but his ability merits a starting place. Certainly one of Southend's most capable players when on form, and his shooting and crossing ability are above this level. Has the ability to beat his man, but not the most pacey of wingers. Was set to leave the club, but has been given a second chance under Alan Little, and promptly scored against Brentford on his comeback appearance.
