Long Island Railroad Simulator Facility

The engineers of the 1205th often train on the GP-38 simulator at the LIRR facility in Queens, New York. This facility gives the 1205th the ability to safely train new engineers while removing many of the safety issues of train handling. The seasoned engineers spend time training the new soldiers and practice operating heavy trains. They also have situations thrown into their missions, for example, losing the brakes on the train.
