Ex Animo Defuncto Te Adloquitor Hic

So I want you to say one thing.
On little thing; a word would do.
But the problem is, you see,
I don't know how to ask.
This territory is not mine;
I don't want to cross the line.
But I think that's just an excuse.
Deep down I don't want to move on.
I like to keep what I've got,
Even if it's only half of what I want,
And not risk it all in vain.
I hate my interferring mind,
Telling my what I have is fine,
It says "You've got part of what you want,
So why risk it all for pain?"
I know the answer starts "because"
But after that I am lost.
I can't think up a decent reason.
For wanting this with you.
But I have my final line:
I say, "But I know I do."
Yet the postscript will
Most probably say;
"But what's the point;
I'll never ask you anyway."
