The Greek Journey

As you all know by now, the Greeks are on their way to come and try to take over our great city. But some of you may not know why they are doing this. It is because of Helen. The story behind her arrival here is very complex. The three goddesses Aphrodite, Hera, and Pallas were all fighting over an apple with "For the Fairest" scribbled around it. They couldn't decide who should keep the apple so they went to Zeus.

When they came to Zeus he didn't want to make any of them mad so he turned the task over to our very own Paris. The three goddesses came to Paris and asked the question, "Who is the Fairest out of us three?"

At the moment he couldn't decide who was the fairest one of all, so he asked for some time. During this period of thinking the three goddesses tempted him with several things like sex, children, money, power and all the women he wanted. But what really caught his eye was Aphrodite's offer of Helen to be his bride. He accepted her offer and named her the Fairest. But there is one problem with this lovely story. Helen was already married to Menelaus. Aphrodite gave Helen to Paris anyway.

But back in Greece Menelaus was in an alliance with practically everyone there. So guess what, they are headed over here to either kill Paris or burn our city down to the ground.

Their Voyage over here has, to my knowledge, been very rough. A rumor is spreading that the fleet couldn't even get out of the harbor until Agamemnon killed his daughter to please Artemis for the death of a rabbit! (see :The first Greek Casualty) Then after all of that, the waves have been rough.

So with that information it will seem like they will be tired. And with our great and giant walls there will be no chance that they will conquer our great town.
