NGCA-Stories

Matlock Bens- The story of Matlock Bens happened in 1883. The house was occupied by a farmer, his wife, and his son. The son wanted to leave the house and go do something with his friends, but he didn't get to. His parents told him no. Well he got mad and killed his dad with a knife. He thought in his head if he killed his dad he would have to kill his mom so she wouldn't tell anyon e. So he killed both of them and threw there bodys under the house. Alsohe put there tombstones in the front yard so people would know he did it. Then he hung himself from a tree that was next to the house. The tree is still there but they have replaced the original tombstones with a newer one due to vandilism. The house it self is trashed on the inside with graffiti, and gang symbols and even the symbols of The Klan! But the place is still creepy at night time with some pretty odd things going on. You are supposed to be able to hear arguing in the abandoned house and see the boys figure hanging from a tree!

Dutton Rd School House- This story goes back to the 1800's. The story goes like this. The Indians owned land on one side of the creek than ran next too the school house. The white folks owned the other side. Well on the Indian's side they grew the stuff that made calamine lotion. Well the white's wanted that side of the land so they asked the indians if they would trade a slave for that part of the land. The Indians said for a slave they would take half of the land. Well since the white's only got part of the land the indians only got part of the slave. So they took the slave inside the old School House and slughterd his leg in there ad treated him very badly since black people exspecially those of slaved had about the same rights as an animal. The black man is supposed to be heard and seen walking around on a peg leg looking for his leg, and possibly seeking revenge to those who treated him bad back in those days

Witches Circle- A pretty easy story witches ever since the early 1900's and now have taken babies and animals out there to sacrifice them. You can hear babies cry at night and we found some dead dogs laying about the area in tons of bones all over the place in the woods. There's an old barn deep in the center of the woods and some pretty strange things have occured there, we've also been chased out of the woods by something and we don't know what this place ranks near the top with the highest haunted places on our list, as it is VERY creepy! Alot of orbs there as well.

Pleasant Forest Cemetary- This are a bunch of old people from the 1800 hundred buried here. The first ever governor of Tennessee is burried here. They have been alot of orbs found here, if you go to the Ghost Pictures site you can see one in the tree.

Lynnhurst Cemetary- One of the biggest cemeteries in Knoxville and also one of the oldest, some people were buried in the 1800's! The cemetary would take three days to investigate its over a mile wide and a mile long. Even some famous pioneers of Tennessee are buried here.

Union Cumberland Cemetary- This cemetary is a very old cemetary! Some of the people buried here were from the 1800's. Its a very small cemtary that has a history of some unexplained things.

Old Grey Cemetery -Supposedly haunted by a black shape. Mainly seen late at night moving through the tombstones. This is a huge grave yard and alot of Tennesee's historical people are burried here!

Chickamauga Wargrounds- The story behind Chickamauga is huge and would take up this whole page so I will try to shorten it. The battle of Chickamauga was fought on these grounds during the Civil War! General Lee sent his men down the hill to take the Union Army by surprise. A Major battle took place in front of the Cravens House and many lives were lost. Actually many lives were lost all over the grounds and buried right were they were killed. The War Grounds are supposely haunted with old war breaking out and old soldiers coming back to haunt! NGCA HAS PROVIDED A DIRECT LINK TO LEARN ABOUT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CHICKAMAUGA AND CAN BE ACCESED BY CLICKING HERE!

Jay's Farm & Woods- This area was an old Indian Stomping ground for the cherokees and alot of them are burried about the property! See the area were Everette Williams lives was old camping grounds for the Indians and they never buried there men on the camp ground so they would take a dead Indian up on a hill to bury him. they buried them standing straight up or upside down. This place has had some starnge occurences at it, and is very huge and scary at night this would also rank pretty high on the haunted list!

Oren White Rd. House.- This is a two story house that is severly haunted. The story as far as we hear was that a woman lived there. Her life was going nowhere so she killed herslef. It is said that the woman chases you away from the house, but when we investigated we found some weird stuff. The picture that is on the picture page is unexplained, we also set a video camcorder inside the house during the day and waited 2 hours. We came back two hours later and on the tape you can hear heart beatings, it also sounds like someone is running and moving inside the house. We went during the night and had a real creepy feeling. A girl has told us she took something from there and the woman haunted her until she brought it back with a rose. We rate this pretty haunted.

Sensabaugh Tunnel-This tunnel was built in the early 1920's and is one of the most famous haunted places in our area. Mr. Sensabaugh is told to have killed his entire family in the stream that runs through the tunnel, and now it is said you can hear his baby's voice crying and legend tells you can see all types of orbs and figures, also it is said that a woman and her child was in a bad storm and pulled off into the tunnel to get shelter... the next day they found the body's of the two dead, and now it is said if you pull your car into the tunnel and shut the engine down it will not start.
