The Janim applet is a major step in the evolution of the Java Lake applet. David Griffith's original Java Lake applet created the animated wave image for any Jpeg or GIF image. It is an example of Animated reflection. The reflection is the animated part. It is a wonderful applet and was the applet upon which Lake Cards was built and operated for the first three years. When we needed more flexibility than it could give, we decided to develop our own applet. The result of that effort is the Janim applet; a multifunctional Java lake applet that provides not just an animated reflection, but reflected animation. The top image may be animated by an image rotation much like the animated GIF but using separate images. The wave images are a reflection of the top, including the animation. Designed from the ground up to be a Greeting Card applet, its flexibility allows it to be used in place of several single purpose applets.
The Janim applet is a drop-in replacement for the Lake applet using default parameters.
