Clan Tremere

Clan Antediluvian/Status: Tremere/TORPOR

Clan History: The Tremere are based on deception and powerful magics and on stolen immortality.

Tremere, the head of House Tremere, ordered a friend to research immortality as the magics that the magi employed were weakening and dying in the change of believes during the Dark Ages. Vampires became the subject of interest.

House Tremere captured a Tzimisce elder and researched the creature's metaphysical form. The procedure is unknown, but a potion was created and consumed by Tremere and his most trusted colleagues, turning them all into vampires.

In an attempt to gain respect from the other clans, Tremere set out to become a 3rd Generation so his House could become a true clan. Vampire after vampire was diablerized, with the last being the Salubri Antediluvian Saulot, who had been in torpor along with several others.

Clan Tremere is one of the founding members of the supposedly benign Camarilla, though the irony that they're one of the most merciless and evil clans isn't lost to the victims of their crimes.

Clan Disciplines: Auspex, Dominate, Thaumaturgy

Clan Advantage: Because of the former position in the Order of Hermes, as well as their studies in Thaumaturgy, the Tremere are incredibly ordered and knowledgeable in the ways of magic. Younger members can expect help from their elders as long as they do their assigned duties competently and efficiently. A member of the Tremere is expected to thank his elder by fulfilling a duty in return.

All Tremere gain a point in the Occult Ability and Occult Influence.

Clan Weakness: To keep a tight rein on their neonates, the elders require new members to drink from a chalice filled with the blood of the seven elders of the clan. This brings the new member one step towards a blood bond.

Additionally, all Tremere are expected to do their assigned duties properly. If a Tremere ignores his duties or vanishes temporarily, he is dealt with harshly, oftentimes by being forced to drink from a chalice again, bringing him even closer to a blood bond.

Bloodlines: There are no Tremere antitribu currently alive, though there were once a small group in the Sabbat.
