Interlude: The Forgotten Forge

In order to prepare the junior members of the campaign group for future D&D campaigns, part-time DM Andy kindly agreed to run a beginner level adventure in Eberron: The Forgotten Forge. Due to shortage of time, this first session only had one encounter. Hopefully this can continue so that the junior members can learn how to play in a more conducive environment.


Session 6:
The warded door, the powder, the wind

A door warded, the heroes found

A disappointment, cause cowardice rules

the door remains, untouched and undisturbed.

Buried thereafter, its secrets lost forever.

Some yellow sulphur, cause panic among the heroes

Perhaps the lessons of fear, have succeeded before and after.

For courage is weak, but direction is clear.

The heroes succeeded, in clearing the evil.

Shutting the mine, through unleashing the fire.

Yet, horrid smoke was formed, and the area is shattered.

The heroes deeds' are sung in the tabloids, smeared by falsehood, that will be known and accepted.

Session 5:
The venture and the vents

Shadows in dark, by the walls, leaning forth.

Touching one and caressing the other, creating terror like no other.

Banished by light, granted by the divine, by the sole carrier, perspiring with desperation.

Two experimental bugbears, eating meat that's fresh.

From an elevator up high, a rain falls on them.

Dropping a bear, but fed the other.

Where the elevator fell, there starts an epic battle.

A simple taunt, a small deed, saved the heroes and the day

a lesson learnt, of drugged terror. One that's always feared

Cleric: Effective use of knowledge skill and the sharing of knowledge +10xp

Ranger: For abiding alignment, performing a foolish act as a gamble to buy the party a chance +50xp

Rogue: Effective use of knowledge skill and the sharing of knowledge +10xp

Psion: ???

Fighter: ???

Paladin: ???

P.S. Note that only specific acts will gain bonuses. And as the game progresses, these bonuses increase as well as the possibility of obtaining them.

P.P.S please confirm if Rogue is the one who did the successfully knowledge (Geo) check as well as who is the one knowing Goblin.

P.P.P.S All whose c-sheets are not posted without declaring reason will not be entitled to bonus xp in future. Various game capabilities may be known to fumble or fizzle.


Session 4:
The scramble

Old friends and members of the Order discovered disabled and bound in a corner

A status holding a gleaming red gem.

A dead goblin, friend of the Warforged or so it seems, upsetting the Warforged cause him to leave... (by a scroll, mysteriously it seems)

A hidden exit, by the vents, discovered when a rogue possess flighty fingers and removed the gem..

A scramble to climb to the vents, at a height of 50ft. Yet all seems to inexperienced to perform what should be.

In the end, the scramble succeeded, but by a hair's breath.

A parchment, the rogue take, from the floor where the goblins lies. A box holding a journal and a pen. What secrets do they hold?

Cleric: Abiding alignment and maintaining personality of a healer +30xp;

Ranger: Abiding alignment and do the foolish but righteous act of aiding another to safety first +30xp

Fighter: Creative thinking of solutions +20xp


Session 3:
The cure, the tribunals....

Healed by a mysterious council of houses joined. Yet the party owes a debt that seems horrific.

A mission unexplained, but just to collapse a mine.

Chemistry, is that a science or an art? Whatever it is, a horror of drugs or is that poison.

A first hint of things to come. Eyes blazing red, a wolf that can stand on hind legs, in a frenzy to offense without caring for its burning body.... or for its own death.

A mysterious Warforged, employed by the party, seemingly more than just the warrior/shopkeeper he seems to be.

Weird mechanisms in the mines. Floors that move and yet not by any visible magic. Room of lavas in which doses of napalm pours into. Bodies of the dead everywhere.

Is this the herald of things to come?

Session 2:
The horrors unrevealed

A commission, by member of the Houses, to be discret, yet to lead an agent into the unknown.

To solve an addiction that has spread through Sharn and cause innocents to be taken.

The Healer's Guild, now congested. Will they find the cure?

An exploration into the forest again. Into the unknown.

An encounter, a murder, a dead halfling, by orcs by kobolds.

A forest fire, ignited by the desperation of a warmage.

Two explosions, cloud of green fires and smoke.

The party retrieve the parchments but they were burnt. What secrets do they hold?

The party down, all poisoned by the clouds. Will they carry on?

The hidden enemy, the spiritual axe, can they defeat?

Cleric: Roleplay +30xp; Effective maintaince of party survival +20xp

Warmage: Accidental furtherance of plot +30xp

Session 1
The First Encounter....

An old man, with stories of brigands in the forest. Carrying 'balls of weed' that heighten ability and competence..

Two in the party were bold enough to try the boost and benefited from it. Except they did not follow up on it.

A stoic member, a Cleric of the Host, declined from consumption that will grant him highs.

But like all good things, these came at a price. An addiction that rebounds greater than the gifts it bestow.

Cured through the care of the stoic one, the members went to investigate. Yet they were ambushed in the forest, without reason, without explanations.

The old man was murdered by three arrows in his back. How much does he know to be thus silenced?
