Background:
Jager Manolin was born to a middle class family in the southeastern city of Yane. He was raised as a merchant's assistant and record keeper. Working for a small trading company, Jager would travel with the convoys and assure the merchandise reached it's owners. It was a mundane existance which Jager excelled at, but was constantly bored with. He filled his free time with reading books of ancient lore and civilizations long since departed. He wrote several books that studied the disappearance of cultures and their impact on the current world. His work was well recieved, but in Yane, there is little call for scholars and he needed to continue his recording keeping job in order to pay the bills.
Near his twenty-seventh birthday a trade convoy brought him farther south than he had ever been. The region was outside of the protection of Yane's military and was generally not travelled. A small border town required medical supplies and food stuffs which Jager's boss was eager to supply with inflated costs. While on the route the convoy came under attack by wyld beasts and fair folk warriors. The fair folk in the region were actively attempting to invade and had taken large amounts of land as their own. This was entirely unknown in Yane and the convoy was taken by surprise. Though the convoy's guardians fought valiantly, the result of the battle was inevitable. For each wyld beast brought down, ten men fell. In the final moments of the fight, Jager dropped his bow to used his body as a shield for a wounded soldier. As a wyld beast's claw lashed out towards Jager's head, everything went black.
Jager awoke to find himself alone where the convoy used to be. Remains, both human and beast, were strewn about. Dead horses and smashed wagons lined the roadside, but no beasts were present. Jager's head raged. The pain was so intense and blinding he could barely stand. Though he could not understand the situation he was drawn into the wilderness. As he traveled his pain subsided. Not far from the road, buried deep beneth forest growth and rubble, was an ancient manse. Jager could feel the pulse and power of the building and took refuge inside it.
Over the next year he put together his past and the secrets of the manse. Powerful spirits resided in the manse and sensing the exaltation of a nearby solar, sent the wyld beasts fleeing. The spirit's guided Jager's mind to the inscriptions throughout the manse, telling of ancient battles and leaders. Jager eventually understood the general history of the solars and their current plight. The spirits sent him images of thousands of powerful and deadly artifacts, long since lost. With these artifacts, the fledgling solars could once again take their place as rulers of the world. With the knowledge of the manse, several artifacts uncovered from within the structure, and a thirst for items to defeat the dragonblooded, Jager set out into the world.
