My roommate can leave if he wants to talk to his girlfriend for 5 hours! hah. We had a bunch of guys like that freshman year. Does he just sit in the hall on the phone? I fed up with it. He's been doing this every day for the whole year. I wish he went intot he hall hah He stays in the room I even told him to take it outside and he never did ouch So I'm not playing Mr. Nice guy anymore Tired of his shit well, you do have all of his stuff in the room, I'm sure you can do something evil Nah, it's become a machievellian political struggle for me. ah, I see. I must maintain the moral high ground in the dorm I think you even spelled machievellian right. You must be serious I am I don't want to cross over into the asshole grounds He's the asshole and I think there should only be one in my room at any given time Nope spelled it wrong Machiavellian close enough Basically I decided to turn it into a political war after he started telling people I was being a jerk to him * ST has joined #ethresh MY God, clones I am late? woot * ST is now known as Echo Strangeness No, we were just discussing my roommate and how I want out lol same ol' same ol Indeed ooo oo, say he's a registered sex offender. Every freshman i knew who had a long distance love broke up by the end of the first summer He's a sophmore we'll your fucked my friend long distance relationships don't work Nope i can't even get a short distance one to work the only trick I know to get back at somebody involves urine and their pillow. But you don't want to do that if you share a room. See I think I've got a good beginning to one. She's coming here next year, and I feel no obligation to do anything when she's not within 10 feet of me. well that's good If only she lived here now and had a single though I'd be charming the pants off her. Then I'd just move in for the rest of the year And all my problems would be solved lol you had your chance with chelsea i was astonished to find she had a single Yeah, but she doesn't like videogames or paintball heh oh yes, there is an Exalted MUSH okay, ready to get going? Yup I am totally prepped I took the time to make a longwinded intro, so bear with me. Echo has some catching up. Requiem’s trip to Blue Haven was far from uneventful. She stumbled onto the Realm delegation, specifically the envoy’s son V’Neef Guissan. After taking Requiem from the pitched battle against the Dune Striders, Guissan brought her to his father’s ship. V’Neef Daerius is one of the oldest and most influential Dragon-Bloods in the Realm. The Eventide document must be extremely valuable to send such a representative. He was accompanied by a small army of Terrestrial bodyguards and his mysterious wife, who somehow remains nameless. Daerius wisely choose to take Requiem with them to use as a bargaining chip during the negotiations. Perhaps if she and his son strike up a friendship, the Abyssals will be swayed slightly. The trick, of course, was to make sure his son wasn’t overly swayed by the Deathknight herself. To that end he ordered two Dragon-Bloods to stay with them at all times. Peleps Cval and Werreck are young, strong, and extremely loyal. They will allow no harm to come to Guissan. http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/cval.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/werrick.jpg Half way to the Lintha island of Blue Haven, the Terrestrial ship was attacked by unknown assailants. They sunk they mightly Realm vessel in a suicidal ram. When everything seemed hopeless, an entirely random thing happened. A shining First Age ship came in and rescued everybody in mere minutes. Two Sidereals, circle mates of Daerius’ wife, pilot the ancient vessel. Though they abhor the idea of revealing themselves to so many, they have no choice. In order for this mission to be accomplished, they will need everybody’s help. Emerald Dusk, Ivory Dawn, and Scarlet Noon (all presumably false names) took the Terrestrials down to the lower decks and informed them of the truth behind the Realm. Hours later the shaken men and women went to bed, their entire lives tossed upside down in a single night. During the trip, Guissan and Requiem became fast friends. There was just something neither of them could explain that kept pulling them together. There was no doubt in Requiem’s mind that her dreams were about this boy and that soon the very fate of Creation would rest in his hands. Echo’s trip was boring. He won a game of chance and got sweet pirate hat, but besides that has nothing to report. So here we are in Blue Haven! http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/abyssal.html (pictures of the three sidereals) (I'll wear said pirate hat CONSTANTLY from now on) You both arrive at the docks around the same time. Blue Haven is probably the oddest 'island' in Creation. It is actually thousands and thousands of derelict ships bound together to form a man-made island. (OH GOD THE DREAM) It is home to the famous (and deadly) Lintha pirates. As a mortal Echo called them his brothers. The Lintha have a loose alliance with one Deathlord, the Bodhissatva, but are primary servants of the Yozis, specifically the demon ocean Kimberry. (hah. You remembered. Go forshadowing!!) The air has an odd quality, and though it is mid morning, the sun barely makes it's way through the thick clouds. You spot each other from across the docks. (Echo, this is your home away from home, anything you want to add is cannon, so long as it is resonable. Locations, people, etc) * * Echo doffs his pirate hat in a mock flourish and bows to Requiem from the distance. "I see our little seer found her way. Good to see. I imagine her visions will prove useful during this undertaking. Now as for you two..." Echo remarks, eyeing Crimson and Ruin as they depart the vessel they took to Bluehaven. "You two had better have something decent to offer up in these bargains! Otherwise we're out of luck." * Echo grins and turns back towards the "island". He sucks in the sweet air like it were a midsummers breeze in his homeland. That is, in fact, mostly the case. He dons his pirate hat and proceeds inland towards Requiems party, intent on making a good first impression.* * Requiem responds to Echo's bow with a half hearted wave and turns to Guissan. "My comrades appear to have arrived in one piece. I should feel fortunate. Perhaps we should go meet them."* Guissan smiles and nods, eager to meet more Deathknights. "Sure thing." From behind the young man Daerius eyes the two of you warily. His wife urged him to allow Requiem and Guissan spend time together, but is isn't sure about her motives. Ruin doesn't even bother to nod at Echo. "You'd just better live up to your reputation. If that tongue of yours isn't quick enough we'll all be dead." Crimson examines her hair and pouts. The salt air is giving her split-ends! (Internal struggles in the future for Requiem, so lovely. They grow up so fast) Another group approaches the four of you, and Echo recognizes them immediately. Reinforcments. Captain Thein bows with all the flourish his stiff body can manage. The dozen war ghosts behind him kneel and bow their heads. "Hail Echo, savior of Fellharbor." He grins slightly. http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/Thein.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/warghost.jpg * "Stuff it Ruin, we're negotiating. Look political, act nice. Especially to me...after all, I am your only chance.." Echo laughs out loud as Thein approaches him. "Thein! Good show! I thought I wouldn't see the likes of you and your men ever again!" Echo smiles broadly. Leverage never hurt anybody.* Thein chuckles coarsely. "And we are pleased to see you again Echo. Much has changed since you left us. The Crimson Claws have been opening welcomed by the Bodhissatva and your friend Design has been most helpful. Thein looks over his shoulder and a shadow moves slightly in the distance. From the end of the docks Design strides towards you, grinning broadly. Over his shoulder is slung the unmistakable grand daiklave 'Howler in Darkness', the Bodhissatva's person weapon.* "The Soul's Twisted Design! Well aren't you a sorry sight!" Echo cackles. From surrounded by enemies who would as soon stab him in the back as greet him...to flanked by old allies. Fate, it would appear, was pulling for his circles cause...despite the fact that at least two members of the circle would kill him given the chance.* * Requiem runs towards Soul's Twisted Design when she sees him. "Design! You're okay! Where were you?" Design looks at Requiem and bows polietly. "Greeting Requiem. I finally found a way to sneak out of Felharbor to aid you both. And I managed to bring along Thein and some of his men." He turns back to face both of you at the same time. "I have presents for you both." With a flourish he whips Howler in Darkness over his back and slams it's tip into the dark wood of the dock. "That's for you Echo, specially modified at the Bodhissatva's request. He says if you can survive until tommorrow night, it's yours to keep. With that he turns to Requiem and carefully pulls out a plam sized cube of Soulsteel. The cube has inlays of moonsilver, starmetal, and orichalcum. It doesn't look overly impressive. He tenderly hands it to Requiem. "Be careful with that Requiem - its _dangerous_." He takes a step back to make his point.* * Echo furrows his brow. "I am really quite pleased with the gift...a pity I was never good with a sword." Echo rubs his chin as he crouches down in front of the glorious, black thing. He runs his fingers down along the center of the daiklaive, feeling the beautiful soulsteel with subdued glee. "But a gift is a gift. I suppose that means the Bodhissatva is well once again?" Echo asks, pondering the possibility of simply conquering Blue Haven rather than waste time negotiating.* * Requiem looks at the cube with great interest. She tries to glance at it all over without turning it, afraid something catastrophic might happen. "What is it?" Design shakes his head at Echo. He has significantly more control over his prison now, but cannot physically leave. He would like to help us now, but has no choice. We come in his stead. Oh, I spoke with Anhk yesterday, he was interested in where you were. I told him." He smirks. Design turns to Requiem and eyes the cube warily. "I don't know. I've modified a Deathlord's personal implement of war, built dozens of warstriders, as well as a zombie-boat factory. Believe me when I tell you that thing scares the -hell- out of me. I have no clue what it is."* (Hooray for the mystery cube) (don't drop it) "Perhaps the function of it will come to me." "Anhk? Oh good lord, that creature...and now a soulsteel doomsday device, as well as a Deathlords personal weapon. I must say that all of this help is awfully encouraging, although ultimately a bit terrifying. We are effectively staring at the sum of the power of my Liege. The sum of the power of the MAJORITY of the Deathlords. Does that disturb no one else?" * Design shrugs, "I'm getting used to being disturbed." Ruin raises his hand, "Me too." Design continues, "The Bodhissatva as I've already mentioned has been spying on Setesh and knows his plans inside and out. He won't share the details with me, but it must be serious to send Thein and I out here. He is now alone in Felharbor and defenseless. This is quite a risk for a Deathlord to take, he must have quite a bit of faith in us."* "Or he knows he must make one last gamble, no matter how small the odds." "My Liege is selfish in regards to self-preservation, as with all the Deathlords. He would not send away his only defenders unless he felt there was a greater threat abroad. Here, specifically. As I said, somewhat disturbing." Echo sighs. "So what are the 'changes' to the Howler, Design? If it is a gift, then I surely must know how to use it..."* Design grins from ear to ear. "Thought you'd never ask. Do me a favor Echo, pick it up. Speak to it."* * Echo smiles. From any other man, that demand would probably equate to Echos swift death. It's usually a bad idea to speak to gigantic soulsteel daiklaives. Yet Echo trusts Design enough to give it a go. Echo wraps a single hand around its hilt and then asks, "What, specifically, should I be saying?"* Echo's words instantly cause a noticable change in the weapon. Dull blue streaks race across it's surface and a ghostly green amulet pulses at the hilt. Instantly the weapon becomes weightless in Echo's graps and breaks free of the dock. Design laughs, "Nice huh? She's my pride and joy. You're quite the showman, and so is the new Howler. Give her drama and she'll slay thousands, give her comedy and she'll rend the soul of a Deathlord." Requiem’s mind blanks for an instant and a flash of a previously repressed dream comes to her. A young woman is screaming into Requiem’s face, ‘No one will take him away from me! Guissan is mine! Your meddling will do no good, I’ve sent my servants to see to that!’ The vision is horrifying, it is no wonder you repressed the memory. (The Howler in Darkness, artifact N/A, commitment 1 willpower. Can be used with either the wielder’s melee or performance ability score. Charms for either will work with the artifact. It’s exact nature is yet to be discovered, it hasn’t been wielded in it’s current altered state) http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/Kimberry.png A gasp from behind Requiem breaks her from her waking dream. Guissan tugs at Requiem’s sleeve. He sighs after a second. ‘Oh, never mind Requiem. I thought I recognized one of those women over there.’ He points into the thick tangle of ancient ships. ‘She had the oddest red eyes.’* * Requiem gasps as her arm is touched, and she shakilly looks over to the woman he is indicating "I can appreciate this." Echo says smugly, swinging the blade around, mercilessly slashing the air with his wit. It is, arguably, perfect in its concept and perhaps in its uses too. It is grand to know that he is so favored by his Liege. There is nothing but shadows. Something wrong though. The hair on the back of your neck stands on end Requiem. Design nods to Echo, "Just keep talking and she'll keep swinging. I'm not sure what else it can do, but be warned - anything you kill with that blade has it's soul crushed and forged into Howler. It is a permanent death, even for Deathknights and ghosts."* * Requiem turns to Guissan. "Be careful Guissan, this place is dangerous, and I can't help but feel there is a danger looking for you." Guissan looks at Requiem curiously, "Oh I doubt it. Just run of the mill pirates. My father won't let anything happen to me." He smiles brightly. * Echo has quit IRC (Ping timeout) (Oh dear) (doh) (what's up with his connect? The logs from his preludes are riddled with them) (Oh well, we'll catch him up when he gets back) (yeah) * Requiem sighs Ruin clears his throat and points. Look over there, a pack of Lunars." http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/abyssal.html (three pics there under 'Lunars' column) (Wow, the third one has a lot of tells) Crimson scoffs and points at another dock, "And some asshole Solars." She spits on the ground in disgust. (heh. well two are in beastform) (also three solars on the site) Design nods, "Yes. They've all come to negotiate for the Eventide Document, they likely have no clue what the Mirror Abyss is or that this location is important in finding it." "Looks like dangers extend beyong mere pirates..." Ruin nods, "The Lintha are the least of our worries. Sidereals and Lunars and Solar, oh my..." He trails off in thought. "We could be in trouble." Even Crimson looks to be taking this seriously. "Lets get to our rooms, this air is chilly." * "Indeed, perhaps we can plan how we will obtain this document, and escape with it with all of our limbs attached." * Echo has joined #ethresh (review for echo's sake...) (check the log if you really care, nothing really happened. We spotted 3 lunars and 3 solars here for the negotiations, their pics are on the web site) (Damn dude) (Why must everyone have an agenda) Minutes later you are in your assigned room. It has a central meeting room, which you all stand in with a number of bedrooms off to the side. Design is rubbing his chin. "I wonder what the Bodhissatva meant when he said Echo could keep the Howler if he survived until tomorrow night?" "Maybe he wants his sword back." The thought is disrupted by a snicker from under the floorboards. A tiny crack in the floor reveals that you directly above the water line. Peering through the hole into the black water, you see a rather large blinking eye. A deep voice laughs loudly, "Hah! You wish Golden Voice of the Sun! The Bodhissatva and I have odds on you, its 3:1 against you!" Ankh's voice resonates through the building.* * Echo peers back at the eye for a moment, then rubs his temples. "And here we are back to the disturbing part." "Look, Ankh, I appreciate you coming all this way...from the Underworld...but I really hope you aren't betting AGAINST me." He then smirks. "After all, I have the seer."* * Requiem looks over at Echo, and returns her attention to the cube. "Hah! Such wit, that's what I remember. Oh no sir, I have put quite a wager on you. The Bodhissatva on the other hand..." He seems to shrug, if an eye can do so, "Oh those hundreds of years together... they seem like only yesterday." The voice cracks slightly with emotion, "Golden Voice, you were my closest friend back then..." He sobs, childlike. The eye glances at Requiem, then around the room to the rest of the crew. He looks disinterested. "I'm here to help!"* "I think it's fair to say the Bodhissatva has laid quite a wager on me as well, old friend. So how, exactly, shall you be helping us this evening? Perhaps some tales from the Underworld to relax us before negotiations?" Echo cracks a long grin.* "Oh no silly! I've come to slay Kimberry's behemoth!" He says cheerfully. Apparently nothing really fazes him.* "Obviously. Sometimes I wonder how I fail to see such obvious things. So where, exactly, is this behemoth? And...why are you going to slay it? And while we're asking question- who is Kimberry?"* (Err, sorry I had meant to add this before my *. Strike Echo's last remark for just one second...) Ice water runs through Requiem's blood. Kimberry - that's her name! The person from the vision. Her heart sinks, she's heard of the Yozi Kimberry. After all these years Requiem believed she was an agent of the Malfeans, working their divine plan. Apparently she was also whispered to by at least one Yozi. Echo has a similar reaction, but for different reasons. * Requiem puts down the cube, and begins shaking violently. Growing up a Lintha means worshipping demons. The patron of the demons in Blue Haven is none other than Kimberry. Had Echo not had the whole 'goth agnst' thing going on, he likely would have become a servant of Kimberry rather than the Bodhissatva. Kimberry has been nothing but a provider for the Lintha, their precious mother and caregiver. She could be against them now?* (I should mention I decided to be a Lintha BEFORE I got Blood and Salt..) (sorry to tramp on ya brent, but i needed to add that) (heh, yeah I know. I had to MAJORLY adjust my plotline after reading that book) * Echo just shakes his head and sighs. "I...do not understand, Ankh. Why is Kimberry sending a behemoth against her own city? Do my own kin see me as a foe now as well...?" Echo trails off, more curious than saddened.* The eye 'shrugs' again. "I don't know, but I do hate that bitch. I can't -believe- that deceitful whore survived the Primordial War while my precious master died! It's not fair!" He sobs again. "Oh, but seriously she has some problem with somebody here. Since The First and Forsaken Lion and Profane are already here, I guess she figured she needed the big guns." Design stares in horror. No wonder the Bodhissatva placed a 3:1 bet on Echo and provided such amazing weaponry... they would need them.* "The First and Forsaken Lion...and Profane are here? So add a pair of Deathlords to the list of enemies. But perhaps...perhaps this is a good thing!" Echo beams, seeing his compatriots discouraged for once. "We are the small fish now! That hasn't been so for so long I had nearly forgotten the usefulness of ambiguity. We may be weak in comparison to these other cretins, but we've resources to use and the means to use them. We'll play them against one another. If there are two Deathlords and a Yozi vying for control of the Eventide documents, then they do not see US as threats." "This may not be correct. I believe Kimberry may have a vested interest in us." "On the contrary they see only one another as the real enemies. We use that. I'll need all of you for this, even you Crimson. Between the lot of us, between our skills, our abilities and our desires, what could possibly stop us?" Echo smiles ruthlessly. My god, he's gotten into a lie so big he himself believes it.* Design looks pointedly at Requiem, "What do you mean?"* "I have seen her, in dreams." The entire room quiets and turns to Requiem, waiting for more.* "She is after something, and she seems to think I'm in her way to achieving it." * Echo even shuts up for a change. Dreams, it would seem, hold much potential when spoken of by a seer. Ruin scoffs, "No offense, but what could you do to stop a Yozi?"* "I don't know, but I don't think she truly fears me." "She sees me as an obstacle to be overcome." Design rubs his eyes tiredly. "Nothing new. Gloom and doom. I can't-" He is cut off by a quick whisper from under the floorboards. "It's here!" Anhk whispers in a tiny voice. Nothing happens.* * Echo waits for a moment in abated breath, unmoving. He glances around cautiously, listening to all the creaks and groans of the island underfoot.* * Requiem grabs the cube and holds it securely Absolutely nothing changes outside. Actually, that in itself is rather disturbing. Though faint, the sounds of people moving around and chatting outside were audible. Now there is just perfect, eerie silence. (I suddenly envision Crimson just throwing up her hand and yelling "I need to go to the bathroom" for some reason) No sun light is coming through the crack in the door. Ruin looks at the door while the ancient ships creak and moan. He cautiously stands and walks to the door, barely making a sound. He puts his hand on the handle and pauses a moment, looking back at the group. He mouths the words, 'Get ready'* * Echo swings the Howler In Darkness up onto his shoulder and takes a silent step backwards, eyeing the doorway. His soulsteel hand tightens menacingly on the grip of the penultimate weapon in his grasp, but he still looks somewhat unsure of himself.* With any more delay, Ruin swings the door outward and draws his soulsteel firewand. A pale blue light rushes in from outside. It is an odd light, and seems to have replaced the faint yellow sunlight that greeted you upon your arrival. There is no one outside. Taking a step out Ruin looks around. Still nothing. Clouds cover the sky, but they are moving differently than they were before. They seem to be spin in a perfect circle around Blue Haven, as if the entire island was in the middle of a noiseless huricane. Design gulps and looks down at the floorboard, "Anhk, what do you think?" But the eye is gone now without a trace. * Requiem closes her eyes and trembles Ruin returns to the room and says in a hushed voice. "Okay, something is happening. We need to get everybody together. There are two Deathlords out there, two First Age behemoths, and gods know what else." "Echo, I you're right, we need to stay out of the way." Ruin seems to stand taller, taking charge of the situation. "Somebody should go find the Lunars and Solars, they need to know what's going on. Perhaps they'll even fight along side us. That includes the Dragon-Bloods and their odd astrologer friends." He smirks, "So who wants to go?"* (Echo, I think you're right*) * Requiem has quit IRC (Ping timeout) * Requiem has joined #Ethresh Wierd (what's the last you saw?) Design saying something in a hushed voice about Behemoth's and Deathlords (Also I must apologize, but I must get going soon so I can study for my final Exam in JApanese tommorrow) (shit, just got handed the baby) (well we can end there) (its as giood a place as any) "Let the Lunars and Solars live and die on their own accord. They are Exalted, they can die like it. Me, I'm going to watch this. Besides...if we get involved we'll all be killed. I don't think anyone is in ANY hurry to see that happen. Let the killers kill and the players play. I don't know about you, but I'm somewhere in between." With that said, Echo strides out to meet the gathered behemoths and Deathlords.* (Oh, nevermind then, ha) (we'll put that on his tombstone) ok! that went better than i thoought it would heh things are coming together, armegedon style always the best way neither of you have to die, but you might! muwhahahahahah good spot to stop too, very Final Fantasy it's alright, i gotta go stalk a girl i got shit to DO son. maybe 2 to 3 more sessions... depending on what happens heh but we'll end in blue haven Sounds likea good balance Ankh sneezes, Echo suffers fourteen levels of aggravated damage.
