Session Start: Tue Apr 12 19:02:39 2005 Session Ident: #ethresh * Logging #ethresh to 'C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\Exalted\Abyssal\Logs\AB-04-12-2005' Yo hiyo i updated requiem's character sheet on the website Alright during the last sesssion I found myself scrambling to look up stuff and find her dice pools, hopefully this will help me at least :) Anything for convience's sake Lets see, last we met Requiem had just been yanked (rather rudely) out of the battle by a young Terrestrial Exalt. The boy is not just any other new-born Exalt, he's been the focus of your dreams for the past weeks. Whatever Malfean that speaks to you in your dreams is obviously very interesting in this boy, but the reasons are clouded. You are pretty badly wounded from the fight (You are down 5 health levels and have yet to stop bleeding) and find it difficult to keep up with the Dragon-Blood. * Requiem struggles to keep up with the boy, and attempts to close her wounds. (You succeed at your stamina+resistance roll to stop bleeding, the pain is still intense, a -1 wound penalty, but it could be far worse) The two of you burst into the sunlight and into a main road. The hustle and bustle of the bazzaar pauses to stare and gasp. The Terrestrial stops a moment to get his bearings.* * Requiem begins coughing into her hand and looking around. "Where are we? Who are you?" He looks back at you curiously, "I'm V'Neef Guissan" He turns and gives a practiced bow. "And we're going to miss the boat!" He points towards the docks and motions you to follow* * Requiem is unsure of what the boy's intentions are, but destiny must have ruled this meeting for a reason. Perhaps this will shed more light on the importance of the boy. Requiem follows V'Neef Guissan. You quickly reach the docks despite your wounds and you find the crowd clears away before the sight of the two of you. Guissan stops at a pier that has a mighty ship docked to it. You remember it as the Realm vessel you noticed before the attack. A rather large man in jade armor stands at the side of the ship. He turns to your young companion, "Guissan, what is the meaning of this?" Guissan stammers, "Uh.. father, I..."* http://www.angelfire.com/creep/dp/daerius.jpg * Requiem looks the man over trying to get a feel for his history (rolling perception+socialize) (3 successes...) He is rather old man, even for a Terrestrial. You can tell he is not far past his prime however with perhaps another three decades before he considers a comfortable retirement. His face exudes confidence and he doesn't seem to be short on swagger. He is obviously the boy's father, but what man would bring his son to be bowels of Creation?* (*his son to the bowels of Creation?) * Requiem feigns a curtsy. "It is an honor to be in the presence of one such as yourself." Tries not to cough up blood. The man snorts, "I'm sure it is Death-tainted. You know I had more than a few friends in Thorns." He stares at you coldly. "Our vow to be peaceful during the negotiations does not extend to this dock, you had better talk fast young one." From the ship you see at least a half dozen Terrestrials clad in jade peering over the side at you. You count at least three bows leveled in your direction.* "I can assure you I bring no conflict to you. I am simply an embassador for my master and only wish to complete my mission so I may return to her. If I am not delayed further I will return to my home, if I do not return my master will worry... And surely will send others to investigate." * Requiem smiles and adds. "And I can assure you they will be more trouble to put down than a simple, small child." The large man rubs his chin. "Perhaps. Where are the others that came with you? Why are you bleeding?"* "They are still engaged in a battle with some of our enemies. Those who would march upon Creation in Legion wish us dead because we stand between them and fruition. Perhaps you could assist us, for the greater good." * Requiem smiles ruefully The man laughs heartily. "You stand against those that would invade Creation?" He turns to a slender woman beside him (was she there the entire time?!). "I guess you are right my dear, the Dead do fight between themselves. How pleasant." He turns back to you and a broad smile, "With that case my dear child, I bid you welcome. I am V'Neef Daerius. Please be my guest aboard the Shining Dragon," He motions to the ship, "as we head to Blue Haven for the negotiations. You can rejoin your party there."* "I assume they will be able to take care of themselves, perhaps I could leave a message with their ship to let them know where I am to be found?" Daerius nods, "My men will handle that. We'll be leaving shortly - the weather is turning quickly and our captain fears getting caught in a typhoon on the approach to Blue Haven." Several of the Dragon-Bloods look pale at the thought - what in Creation could be so bad about the approach to Blue Haven?* * Requiem looks at the faces of the men "It would appear that there is something to fear of Blue Haven. Do you have any idea what drains the color from your followers?" Daerius snickers, "You haven't even heard of the place we're heading? It's the home of those bastard Lintha pirates and it has it's on.. unique defenses. It is almost impossible to reach because of the many natural hazards along the way. Only Lintha captains know the route, and even they sometimes do not survive the trip." "Luckily, we have a guide." He waves to a Lintha with high ranking insignia on his chest.* "I only hope you paid him enough for his services. I am afraid I cannot swim." Daerius smiles. "I shall keep that in mind." The green-eyed woman beside Daerius whispers something into his eye, she looks pissed. She hasn't taken her eyes off you the entire time. (*eer, whispers something into his ear. duh) Daerius waves her aware in irritation and you manage to catch part of his reply - "insurance". With that he and the others simply walk aboard. Guissan turns to you and beams, "See! I knew I was supposed to save you. Hey, do we know each other?"* (good lord my spelling is terrible. Sorry the tv is blasting and three people are talking around me.) * "If you did it would have had to have been in a dream. I'm afraid this is our first meeting in the waking world."* He frowns, "I don't think so. I don't dream. Not at all." He shakes his head as if afraid to ponder the idea any further. "Well lets go, we can meet your friends in Blue Haven." "So why is it that you are here? You don't look like a diplomat to me."* "I venture from the land of the dead to the land of the living. I do not carry war banners with me, just the wishes of my master. In that sense I am a diplomat, though my manners of dressing vary in many ways from the ones you must be used to." "As for why I am here..." * Requiem looks off distantly for a bit "I act as my master commands." The two of you board the ship, you settle in after a time and continue your conversation as the ship begins to depart. "Master huh? Who's that?"* "I serve the Dowager of (rest of title), the dark Huntress of the East. She is the one who awakened me to my destiny, and for that boon I must serve her." Guissan nods. "I guess I understand. I suppose I'm indebted to the Dragons in the same way, except they really don't ask anything of me." He is about to continue when a loud crash rings through the ship. The sound of wood creaking and snapping is horrifing. Shouts can be heard above deck. Guissan jumps to his feet and runs up.* * Requiem slowly walks to where Guissan is running. As you reach the upper deck, rain droplets run down the ladder and the sound of shouts is becoming increasinly louder. Sticking your head out the hatch, you are assaulted by warm rain and screams. Through the deluge you can see the problem, another ship has come along side the Shining Dragon. From the look of those on board the other ship, they are not terribly friendly.* * Requiem frowns and extrudes a needle from her wrist (ivory needle). Why must life be a non-stop fight. A line of men, mostly Terrestrials shout towards the other ship. Surely no mortal vessel could be stupid enough to attack an Realm ship with a dozen or more experienced Exalts? It becomes clear quickly that the other ship has no intention of getting into a brawl with your ship, they plan to ram it. The other ship closes in for a second hit and with a sickening crunch, part of the side of the Shining Dragon collapses under the pressure. A Dragon-Blood with a green aura touches the side of the hull, sending her essence to strengthen the hull, but it does not seem to be enough. Guissan turns to you, "What are we going to do?!"* (Hows close is the ship?) (right now it is touching your ship, but it is not securely attached) * Requiem flicks her needle at the closest random extra A man at the bow of the attacking ship clunches his neck in alarm before collapsing to the deck, dead. The same fate befalls nearly all of those on the other ship's deck as a hail of essence powered arrows rip through the mortals. A cheer begins to rise on the Shining Dragon before the true affect of the attack is known. The enemy ship is stuck firmly against you on ship, and is begining to sink. Daerius shouts to the crew, "We're going down! Find the pitch over the crating for rafts!"* "This is quite unfortunate. I was hoping for a comfortable ride." The ship shifts violently as it takes on water and begins to sink. You take a moment to look around and your heart sinks as well. The water out here is choppy and you see craggy rocks jutting from several spots on the sea. The sun doesn't seem to pierce the thick clouds here and the entire thing is just gloomy and forboding. Then the oddest damn thing happens. Another ship appears beside you own. And by appear, I do mean appear... or was it there the entire time? You get the same sensation you had when looking at the green-eyed woman, as if the ship isn't supposed to be there at all. It is quite obviously a First-Age relic, replendant with essence cannons and silken sails. The rough water doesn't even sway the ship slightly, it sits as if in calm water. The green-eyed woman smiles from behind you. "Help has arrived."* * Requiem looks up at the woman. "And what help would that be?" She sighs, "I was hoping we wouldn't have to show ourselves, but it seems our hand has been forced. You'd best stay on good behavior Abyssal, you kind is not welcome to us." With a smirk a brilliant purple caste mark burns on her brow. A number of rope ladders are lowered allowing you all to climb to safety as the two doomed ships sink. Not a single person aboard the Shining Dragon is lost. Once on board the spacious First-Age ship, you notice three figures in black robes across the deck. There is no crew. In fact these three seem to be the only ones controlling the entire ship. * * Requiem smiles "You can be assured I will behave myself. I do not intend to die idiotically." The green-eyed woman huffs. "We shall see. It looks like the maidens have a plan that even we did not see. These Dragon-Bloods were to be the Realm's representatives during the negotiations, and we were to remain in the shadows, helping only when neccessary. "Somehow our presence was discovered and were were forced to show ourselves." She frowns deeply. "My companions and I prefer to remain unnamed for now, we have quite a bit of explaining to do to these Terrestrials. They must be informed of the situation and the gravity of the threat to Creation. "Even you realize we must all work together against our common enemy. It is no coincidence that this conference is being held in the stronghold of Kimberry, one of the Yozis." From behind you, Guissan flinches slightly, but he doesn't seem to realize it.* (if you aren't familiar with Blood and Salt, the Lintha are demon worshipping, specifically the demons of the sea, and Kimberry is the Yozi ocean) "Yes, it would appear that we both have mutual interests... for now." She smiles at you pointedly, "Lets hope it stays that way little one." (well, I guess we can end there if you'd like. Sorry not a whole lot happened tonight) (s'right, this is a good ending point) yeah, I can't think of much else to do without echo, but you did manage to wiggle your way into both the terrestrial and sidereal camp, which isn't too shabby Go me oh well, we'll see what happens next time. See ya later, I'll email brent so he can look up the log to get caught up Session Close: Tue Apr 12 20:26:18 2005
