Our generation today is a great generation. The old times of women having to be home with the children, taking care of the husband are over. Now women are stronger then they have ever been. They own companies, work in some of the most cut-throat businesses that some of us men only wish we can be apart of, and they still come home and are the caring mother and wife that some of us men claim they should be, like old times. Women have proved that they are just as important to society, if not more important to society, then men are. They go to work just like men, but they also have tasks that we men would never want, for example child birth. No man in their right mind wants to give birth to a child, we see how painful and time consuming birth is, and we thank god whether it be jokingly or serious that we don’t have to. Whereas in the old days the women’s role in life was to be give birth to children, to be home for the children, to make sure then when the husband comes home there is a fresh hot cooked meal on the table, ‘at home wife’s’ were what was expected from women in those days. Nowadays, its not uncommon that the men stays home and takes care of the home and children, while the women are hard at work…….Oh my how the times have changed.
In the generations prior to ours, having sexual relations with the opposite sex before marriage was almost un-thinkable. As time went on, that changed. It’s not uncommon in our generation to see a 20 year old female pregnant and on her way to having a child or to have a child already. That’s where some people believe that this generation ‘doesn’t know any better’. Normally when a situation like this arises, it turns into a bad one because you have children having children. This 20 year old young woman is still in her twilight of her life, she is more concerned with having good clean fun with friends then she is concerned with raising a child. This is an example that our generation isn’t perfect, but then again what generation was?
The way we think about our generations is that, “hey, you did it when you were my age, so who are you to say what I can and cannot do”, and this is true…to an extent. The generations previous to us more than likely did do some of the things that we are doing today, but they had more of an understanding in the things they did. They were more aware of the problems that could come from there actions. They were more protective and cautious then our generation today. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, crime wasn’t as bad as it was today. Back then people involved in anything that had to do with crime will tell you that it was more organized, whereas the crime today seems reckless and sloppy. A couple of generations ago you had things like Mobs or Mafia, organized crime. If something needed to be done it got done for a good reason and it was done reasonably. But today’s crime mostly seems senseless and unorganized, another reason for the older generation to further poke fun at the younger generation. Not that I’m saying the crime in the 50s and 60s was ok, but it just goes to show the imperfections of evolution in our time.
Today men and women have a better understanding of life; we can all agree that times are changing. Most of the changes through-out time are rebellious. The rebelliousness of the next generations is the reason why times change. I’m sure the generations after us would do things completely different the then way we would, but as time shows it will work. Every generation has its imperfections, imperfections that will stand out throughout time, the 1950s was the rebellious music, the 1960s was the spread of drugs, the 1970s was the strength of organized crime, the 1980s was the combination of the 60s and the 70s getting worse, etc. Every generations before us has had its imperfections and after us will be the same, but some how this crazy old world will continue to work, because man adapts, and adaptation is the key to evolution for Generation Next.
