This is the completely painted body. Body was modified with custom front bumper bodykit and flared rear wheel fenders, with the use of Citadel Modeling® GreenStuff epoxy putty, and Tamiya Basic Type Tube Putty. The whole body was then wet-sanded with 1000 grit sandpaper to smoothen out all irregularities and the puttywork. This also keys the plastic so that the primer will adhere to the car body more effectively. 1 grey primer coat was then sprayed, revealing some errors (many small scratches), which was then fixed, and the whole body was wet-sanded again, but with 1200 grit to key the grey primer for better white primer adhesion. White primer was sprayed, and after it cured, it was sanded smooth with 1200 grit under the running tap water, and using toothpaste with a brush to smoothen out the body, as Alex Kustov's ItalianHorses.net tutorial suggests. The body was rinsed carefully with water to remove all the toothpaste and sanded plastic particles. Here, the model is seen after 3 Tamiya 'Camel Yellow' mist coats, and 2 Tamiya 'Chrome Yellow' wetcoats. No clear coats were used as i was very happy with the shine, and i felt that the paint was thick enough to be compounded and waxed to shine. I use Tamiya 'Normal' Compound, Tamiya 'Fine' Compound, Tamiya Modeling Wax, 'The Treatment Last Detail' Model Wax, and Novus number 1 Plastic Clean and Shine (great as it also repels dust!) After Compounding and waxing, the 2 'ADVAN' custom decals were applied with Microset and Microsol by Microscale Inc. |

My Porsche Carrera Beige interior-painted in Tamiya 'Light Sand'. The interior was primed grey with Duplicolor Grey Sandable Primer, and then two coats sprayed with 'Light Sand' rattle can. Detail Master 'Pastel Peach' flocking was also used according to ItalianHorses.net flocking tutorial. Now it really looks like carpet! There are also 2 black racing buckets and the driver's seat with seatbelts. |
