Mindmapping

An Introduction to Mindmapping:

Mindmapping is a term coined by Tony Buzan in the late 1960's. He used them as a tool to help students make notes. Since they used only key words and images, they were quick to make and because of their visual quality much easier to remember and review. Also, with mindmaps having a non-linear nature it makes them easy to link and cross-reference different elements of the map.


The best way to start a mindmap is to get a piece of unlined paper. Centralize the main idea and think of related ideas that can branch out from the main one. While making the branches, look for connections between the various ideas....these connections will help you understand and remember new information.
