M

y name is nima nassiri and I am born on January 25 1987. my nationality is half Filipino half Iranian.

I have two beautiful sisters  , one is 16 and the other is 13 and they both study in PWU. On my fathers side I have a lot of relatives in Iran but I have only a handful of relatives who I know here in the Philippines.

My father  right here (looking flashy) has a tiles shop in paco manila and my mother is a manager in dunkin donuts for 20 years now  here she is on the picture…

I prefer the Iranian culture from the Filipino one but I am comfortable in either sides. My family and me always travel to Baguio 2-3 times every year that’s why baguio is one of my favorite spots here in the Philippines. I visited Iran when I was 7 years old and it was my first time there to actually eat snow! If you ask me what it tastes like… well it tastes like heaven! When I was still a little boy… my parents used to speak English with me.

Then little by little when I studied in an Iranian school I learned the Farsi language and literature. I learned Filipino from my relatives and my friends but couldn’t read and write fluently. My family lives a normal life… not rich and not poor. We always remember god and thank him for the blessings he has given us.

I have a lot of relatives in Iran but I only have 1/10 of their number here in the Philippines. I love my relatives in Iran… they are full of kindness and hospitality and they always help you whenever you have a problem but here in the Philippines it is the opposite. My relatives here are always bugging us and they don’t care about you. They are a pain in the butt if you ask me!

I have a grandfather left in my mothers side and a grandmother in my father’s. My grandfather in Iran passed away when I was still a little boy that is why I didn’t see him yet. My father once told me about my grandfather… he said that your grandfather had blue eyes like your uncle and was the coolest grandfather in the neighborhood before! He always played with kids and he loved them very much.

I have a lot of memories when I was in Iran and with my relatives there, Like the time that we went skiing with my relatives, Rode the cable car up in the mountain, visited the Persian monarch castle full of golden ornaments, and the happy times we spent in the neighborhood or in province.

I would like to one day go to Iran and pay them all a visit, but right now my first priority is studying hard and finishing my course. If I have the money and time… then why not! I will pay them a visit in the summer.

One of the special places here in the Philippines for me and my family is baguio. Ever since I was a child we used to go to baguio every year with our friends and families. Many things have happened there and many good experiences have been carved in our memories.

Those cold nights in camp john hay, the stop overs in kennon road, those problematic days in town and may others. One of the most memorable days in my life was when me and my friends went to baguio (this time no families) and stayed there for 4 days. We went ghost hunting and we would come home midnight.

Baguio is like my second home… many things have happened there and if I had a chance…if everyone lived peacefully and had little problems in mind… and if I could bring my whole friends and loved ones In baguio… then I will definitely live there for the rest of my life! but unfortunately manila is the place where my life cycles. But I will still visit baguio if I have the time, because baguio is a small and beautiful city… but its place in my heart is like the continent of Africa!
