Missa's Page

Welcome young and all! This is a page all about me and my life. My name is Melissa and This is my web page.. On April 15, 2005 my long journey had come to an end. I was offically free from my Probation. "Go me! It's my birthday, I'm gonna party like its my b-day!" However much to my dismay, instead of partying in my home city of Clearwater, FL I was on my way home to Naples to be with my dad who was dignosed with Cancer on Wed. April 12 of 2005. He has been dignosed with Pancreatic Cancer. One of my dad's biggest dreams was for me to be free, and after the two minutes I spent in the court room, I cried when the judge told me "Probation is terminated!" On April 12, my dad had been admitted to the hospital to have a proccedure where his bile duct would be rerouted. As we sat in the surgical waiting room, the seconds seemed like minutes, and the minutes seemed the hours with no word. Finally the Doctor's had come out and gave us the news, I felt my heart drop into my feet! "How could this happen to us?", "This isnt supposed to happen to us?" - These were only two of the questions going through my mind. They told the family that my dad has 3-6 months left. I didnt want to believe that this was my dad. That night I stayed at the hospital with my dad. Well after many tears and night with no sleep, I just couldnt take it anymore. I admitted my dad was going to leave us and decided to take advantage of the time we have left. To me my dad has always been immortal, he's my hero! My thoughts were "who am I going to get advice from?" or "What if I fall- my dad wont be there to pick me up when I fall?" Well my family (including my dad) decided we are going to fight this!!! We are going to buy 100's of Livestrong Bracelets (which you can purchase for a low cost at any Nike store and well as other sport's stores) and try Chemo and Radiations. This is website with my support to my dad and to myself. Check out my links, thinks twice the next you see someone selling cookies for the American Cancer Society, buy one because that could be my dad's life you are saving. Who's know's, it could even be your family members life..
