Horse North Inc. takes in numerous types of area horses. We rescue / take in neglected, abused, abandoned and donated horses and offer them a stable life where their needs can be met.
Some require vet care, others special care because of starvation, parasite infestation and abuse ect. Some horses need to be taught ground manners or are in need of retraining before they can be successfully placed in an adoptive/lease home.
Once the horses/ponies are placeable they are matched to an appropriate family. The goal for them is to be adopted/leased for $25 a year, and remain a program horse throughout their life. If they ever come available for lease again later for any reason the original owner (If the horse/pony was donated) is contacted and offered the horse/pony for a $25 a year (maintaining its program status).
ALL horses donated will remain a program horse for the duration of their life.
Program adoptive/lease homes are subject to periodic visits to ensure they are being properly cared for. If any part of the signed adoption/lease is broken the horse can be taken back into Horse North Inc. custody.
Because we are a Michigan 501C3 Non-profit corporation: all horses, supplies and money donated to Horse North Inc. is Tax-Deductable.
