Sylvester Sim. My neighbour. He is 2 years older than me and he is my most trusted person in this world. From as long as I could remember, he is the one who has always been there for me. My family said that I had already known him for a long time and we grew up together. But why can't I seem to remember ? All I could remember is, he is my neighbour.

Memories. I should have memories of the past with him, isn't it ? But some of my friends told me that I've lost my memory 3 years ago and this sounds weird, because I only lost the memories I had with Sly.

Is he really someone so important to me ?

He took part in the Singapore Idols, the moment I saw him on the televsion just now, a weird yet familiar feeling struck me.

It seems that, he is more than a neighbour.

More than a brother.

And more than... just a friend.

I looked at him, who is staring blankly at the ground. He seem to be much in thoughts. I guess he must be disappointed as he didn't manage to get into the finals.

"Don't get so dis-hearted! I'm sure you will get a second chance! Who knows ? Maybe you would get to be selected for the Wildcards and go into the finals" I said as I patted his shouder.

I smiled.

You never know how important this competition means to me. You forgotten. Yes, you forgot all about our past, our memories. How could you be so cruel to me ?

"I'm tired. Think I better go back now." I said, not allowing myself to think of the past any further.

I open her house's door and walked a few steps back to my house which is just less than 1 metre from hers.

I shut myself in my room, thinking of her.

3 years ago.

got involved in an accident back then. And this is how our fate is twisted. She was saved but lost part of her memory. And that part which she lost were our memories. She remembered her family, her friends and everyone... except me.

From that day onwards, I lost my smile. No point smiling when my soon-to-be girlfriend lost her memory. We were very close back then. We had known each other since young and grew up together since I am her neighbour. I was about to confess to her that day when she got into an accident and forgotten all about me. I broke down the moment she asked me "Who are you ?"

These 3 years, I had always been by her side whenever she is happy or sad. She shared all her happiness and sadness with me. She once said, she trusted me most in this world. But, she only treats me as a brother. I can feel that. We can never go back to the past. And we can't go back since she lost the memories of our past.

But, I will never give up. I know she loves chasing after Idols. I know she loves rockers. That is why I took part in Singapore Idols and became a rocker. I hope I can make her fall in love with me the second time, just like how she did 3 years ago.

My handphone vibrated.

"Hey, cheer up ok ? I will be there for you always like how you had always been there for me =) No matter what, I will stay by your side!"

It was

I smiled once again. Yes, I found back my long-lost smile. I began to smile more and more these days as I knew that this is probably the only thing she might like about me.

But,

will you love me like how I am loving you now ?

As promised, has been staying by Sylvester's side these 2 weeks before the Wildcards' show selection. She knew that he needs someone to be by his side now and someone to cheer him up. All she pray is that Sylvester get a second chance at the Wildcards' show.

And finally, the day for the selection for the Wildcards' show arrived.

accompanied Sly to mediacorp just to give him support. And she believed that he will get a seconds chance.

Gurmit read out the names.

One by one. Sylvester's name wasn't called. He began to get a bit disappointed. But, as he looked over to the crowd, a tinge of sweetness surrounded his heart. was there for him. So it doesn't matter EVEN if he got no second chance at the Wildcards.

And...

"The next contestant that is chosen for the Wildcards' show is... Sylvester Sim!"

Sylvester was shocked but at the same time, happy.

He got a second chance for the finals and he will make sure he gets in.

"For the sake of you, ." He thought and smiled, again.
