The little valley of Barberton is surrounded by the Mckhojwa mountains.
This little historic town forms the "Gem of the Lowveld."
It is one of the seven tourism regions in the country. It has an altitude on 877m.
In the past it was known as the "valley of death" because of its malaria but now it boasts of being a Malaria free area.
