According t oa 1998 L.A.S. newsletter, there were 14 tracks recorded during the Neon Ballromm sessions. 13 new tracks and a re-recorded version of "Spawn". So where are the two tracks that didn't appear on the album? One could possibly be "Trash", a b-side on the "Ana's song(open fire)" single. The other is rumoured to be a song called "Without You". Chris has mentioned that this track may eventually turn up on a soundtrack one day.

Did you ever notice that the "dancers" on the cover of Neon Ballroom were holding daggers? Apparently Daniel requested this little addition to the sign.

Neon Ballroom took almost seven weeks to record, more time than Frogstomp and Freakshow combined.

In an Interview with Rolling Stone in 1998, Nick Launay(producer of Neon Ballroom) mentioned that the working title for "Paint Pasterl Princess" was "All thse same to me"(a prominent lyric at the end of the song). He discribed the song as "really heavy and goes into really weird time signatures".
"Ana's Song" was the last track recorded for Neon Ballroom. In fact, it was never originally intended to be a part of this album, but the band wanted to include another " more traditional" Silverchair track. The band had to return to the studio to record it.

Here are some pictures taken of Silverchair during the era of Neon Ballroom.
