Courseware Authoring
Course
Description
This course
examines the processes and approaches using courseware to design and develop learning
objects. This course will focus on the systematic processes and techniques of
computer-mediated instruction that include analysis, design, development, implementation,
and assessment.

Overview
of Courseware Authoring
- Examine
courseware-authoring applications.
- Review the steps
of the systematic design of instruction model.
- Apply the steps
of the systematic design process to a courseware-authoring plan.
- Identify the
general characteristics of a target population in the analysis phase of a
courseware-authoring plan.
- Use a needs
assessment in the analysis phase of a courseware-authoring plan.
- Determine the
format (e.g., structured versus self-paced) of the courseware-authoring plan from the
analysis phase.
- Examine the
components of a properly written performance objective.
- Write measurable
instructional objectives that meet the needs identified in the analysis phase of the
courseware-authoring plan.
- Design content
and course instruction clearly and logically.
- Apply effective
instructional strategies that meet the needs identified in the analysis phase of the

development tools for Web-based courseware-authoring applications.
