I
t seems everybody has a secret life that their peers don't know about, secrets, insecurities,
serious problems, self-esteem issues, fears, the sort of things that you don't want people to know about
because it might show weakness. People tend to want to appear strong, and in control of
their lives. Those who are judgemental, prejudous, racist, etc, might hurt other people and not even realize
that they're affecting anything. It's those people who are holding others back from being themselves,
being proud of who they are. Once somebody doesn't believe in themself, think that they're
worthless, and that they don't matter, that's when the serious problems start. There are so many
people out there who don't respect themselves, and they turn to self-destruction. Why? Lack
of alternatives. There are so many people who get eating disorders, get addicted to drugs,
cut themselves just to deal with all of the shit that's going on in their lives that they can't
control, but once you have an addiction or a disorder on your hands, you've got one more thing that
you can't control. I think that everybody should think about the people around them that they might
not realize that they're hurting, emotionally. Maybe that person has some problems that you don't
know about. Talk to your friends, try to deal with your and their problems. I find if you have
somebody to talk to, some way to vent all the feelings that build up inside, you can pretty much
deal with anything, or at the very least, get on the right track to deal with your problems.
I find art is a very good way to vent your feelings. May it be drawing, painting, poetry, stories,
music, etc. Be creative, and let your feelings out, don't let them build up inside of you, cuz
eventually you'll explode. And then I'd have to clean up your guts, and I'm really not in the mood for that.
So...talk to somebody about your problems, and try to respect yourself.
