Really, Really Good Books and Other Stuff

I'm big into literature. I'm a geek of sorts...Ok, I'm a total geek. Took a quiz and confirmed it.

My biggest obssession is Gundam Wing. I use the word obssession for lack of a more accurate term to describe my dedication to the series. This is a Japanese anime about five 15 year-old guys who pilot Gundams, 50 ft tall humanoid robots. The pilots kick ass and occasionally get their asses kicked. They are in a war that they cannot control or escape, and they have to fight just to survive. This is where I got the tag you saw on the opening page. I'm a HUGE Gundam Wing fanatic. My brother is also a big fan. The five pilots are as follows:

Heero Yuy, a human weapon often known as "the Perfect Soldier", he was trained since childhood to show no emotion and kill anyone who gets in the way of his mission, pilot of the Wing Gundam, this is my favorite pilot ^-^.

Duo Maxwell, pilot of the Deathscythe Gundam, a loud and, at times, obnoxious American pilot from the L2 colony, the master of stealth and an excellent pilot, also known as "the God of Death", probably the most popular of the five.

Trowa Barton, the unemotional fighting machine from the L3 colony, an exceptional soldier who pilots a heavily armed gundam aptly named Heavyarms.

Quatre Raberba Winner, pilot of the Sandrock Gundam, the gentlest pilot among the five, a would-be pacifist if he weren't a gundam pilot, and an excellent tactician.

Chang Wufei, the male-chauvinist of this lot, he thinks of women as frail and inferior creatures that cannot fight, pilot of the Shenlong Gundam.

That's a run-down of the gundam pilots. Gundam Wing doesn't come on TV anymore. You can only find it on VHS or DVD. I highly recommend this. I just got the entire series, the 3 OVAs, and the Special Edition Endless Waltz Movie on DVD, and it is so freaking awesome! I'm afraid I'm still obsessed, and I discovered it in 2000. For my fellow Gundam Wing addicts, if I've put any incorrect information on this page please let me know. My email address is viniri15@yahoo.com.

I'm also a big Harry Potter fan. I'm halfway through Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and so far, it is really, really good! I can't wait for the 7th book to come out, and I'm only halfway through the 6th book! ^-^ However, I was, and still am, pissed off at J.K. Rowlings for killing off Sirius in HP and the Order of the Phoenix! -_- Curse her for that! If anyone else important dies, I don't know if I'll be able to forgive her.

I have to tell you about a great book series I've recently become addicted to. It's called the Dresden Files, and it is the coolest series. It's about a wizard named Harry Dresden who lives in Chicago. His ad runs something like this: "Lost items found. Paranormal Investigations. Consulting. Advice. Reasonable Rates. No Love Potions, Endless Purses, or Other Entertainment." He's also the Paranormal Consultant for the Chicago PD. He meets a lot of bad wizards and others creatures and kicks their asses (getting his ass kicked in the process). He gets beat up a lot, but he's a smart ass, and he has the greatest one-liners ever! I highly recommend it. It's a great read. The titles of the first five books in the series are as follows: Storm Front, Fool Moon, Grave Peril, Summer Knight, and Death Masks. You really should go pick one of these up. Jim Butcher has a website where you can go to find out more about the books. The address is www.jim-butcher.com. Check it out.
