That was when they were 18. They had been dating since they were 14, just before *NSYNC took off. Skylar had been convinced he was the one for her. Then after four years of what she thought was a perfectly fine relationship, he dropped the bomb.

Skylar sighed as she closed her dark blue eyes and rested her head against the plane window. The instant she closed her eyes, Justin's face appeared and her eyes ripped open. She was going back to Orlando after two years.

Justin was always in her thoughts. He had been her first in many ways. First love, first kiss, and the first and only man she had ever given herself to. He always used to sing her to sleep and rub the back of her neck whenever she was upset. His voice and that rub on the neck always put her at ease no matter what. She had never been able to get back up on her feet and start dating again. Every time she did, it would blow up in her face because the memories were still with her.

Skylar tossed her long black hair over her shoulder as she waited for her ride. She saw the blond with spiky hair and grinned as she ran at him. "Lance!"

"Skylar!" He said back in the same tone as he squeezed her. He was the one who persuaded her to come back, even if it was for the week leading up to the New Years. "Let's get your bags, and bolt, the guys can't wait to see you Sky." He said and her smile faded a bit as he dragged her around the airport.

The break up was supposedly for the best but, Justin was still in her heart, and in her soul. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't let go. And she hopped, this trip would help her do just that.

"Hey you." Justin said softly two days later and her head shot up.

"Hey." Skylar said and returned to the book in her hand. She was sitting outside by Lance's pool and Justin sat down on the lounge chair beside her.

"How have you been?"

She hesitated. "Good." She said and looked over at him. He was still beautiful, even with the very short curls he had been sporting lately. His eyes were still the same shade of blue she remembered. "How about you?"

"I've been great. I fell in love Sky." He said and she forced a smile.

"Really?"

"Yeah, remember Brit?"

How could I forget? She thought. "Yeah. Oh wait, that's right. I heard about yall."

"She's great...I've missed you though. I've missed you as that best friend I've had since I was in diapers. Is there any way we can go back to that?"

"We'll see." Skylar said and looked back at the book, pretending to read until Justin finally stood up and left her alone. The moment she heard the sliding door close, she threw her book down and curled up into a ball and cried.

"I'm gonna miss you Sky! Why won't you move back?" Lance said with a pout as he and the other members of *NSYNC stood around Skylar on her last day in Orlando before her plane took off.

"Oh Lance." She said and hugged him. "You know why." She whispered in his ear before pulling away to be swept up in one of Justin's hugs.

"I really am gonna miss you LarLar." He whispered into her hair and tears clouded her vision. "I've always loved you." He told her and let her go.

She opened her mouth to say something but the final announcement for her flight was called and Justin nudged her. "Get going, you don't want to miss your flight."

Skylar started to walk away, tears flowing freely on her face. "Damn it Justin. Why can't you let me let go?"

Skylar sighed as she looked out her dorm room window at New York University. She had been going to University of Central Florida when Orlando became too much for her and transferred up to New York to finish her four years.

She'd be come a homebody, never going out while her roommate, Natalia (:-P) was a total party animal and went out whenever she could. Tonight being one of those nights.

Skylar heard a noise and looked towards the doorway to see Justin standing there. She'd see him all over the place so she just shook her head and turned away.

"LarLar?" A shaky voice said and her head whipped around to see Justin still standing there.

"What..what are you doing here?" She asked, getting up.

"We're in New York, all the guys and Brit."

"Why are you here?" Skylar asked and he looked down.

"Me and Brit got into a fight, a real bad fight Sky. I didn't know where else to go."

"How'd you know where I was? Sorry about the 20 questions bit but I wanna know." Skylar said with a small smile.

"Lance told me."

"Why did you come to me?" She said crossing her arms and Justin walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist, causing her arms to unfold. She almost wrapped them around him but she pushed him away.

"Why did you do that?" He asked, looking hurt and tears came to her eyes.

"Why can't you let me let go?! You've seemed to have done that just fine a few weeks ago and then before I left you tell me you've always loved me, what ever that's supposed to mean and now you show up at my door. Let me let go Justin."

"I can't."

"What do you mean? Two years ago you sounded damn confident you wanted this to end! I don't understand you Justin!"

"I made a mistake alright! That was the biggest mistake of my life. I'm so sorry Skylar." Justin said wrapping his arms around her again, rocking them from side to side as she cried into his chest.

Skylar's hands moved around his waist and up his back as she cried. "Please. Just let me let go."

"I told you I can't Sky. I'm still in love with you. I was scared back then. I was scared of all the feelings I had and everything that was going on around us. It was all I could think of to do and I'm so sorry LarLar." He kissed the top of her head as his arms squeezed her.

"What about Britney?" She asked, raising her head from his chest and his hand came up to wipe away the tears.

"I don't really care right now. I only care about you."

"Justin..." Skylar whispered before her lips fell on Justin's. The kiss deepened and they kissed for a while before Justin pulled away.

"Do you still want me to let you let go?" He asked softly, touching her cheek and she smiled as she shook her head.

"No, never let me let go."
