Well I said that Terry Labonte would be back in victory lane sometime soon. Congrats to Terry for winning the last Labor Day Southern 500. I think it has to be cool for him because he was there for so long, it's almost like the end of an era for him and others like Bill Elliott and Rusty Wallace. Not that I want to see that be Terry's last win, but it would be cool to be able to say that your first win was at the Southern 500 and that your last win, 23 years later, was at the Southern 500. Kind of a cool deal. And I have to say, what the hell has been up with Jeff Gordon. I like Jeff, but ever since Pocono he hasn't even done decently in a race. The man has the record for longest period of time without a DNF and now he has these races and you wonder how. Although not all of them were his fault. In Pocono he was in the pack and checked up like those in front of him, but whoever was behind him didn't. Last week in Bristol, again, he checked up for Schrader, but Kenseth didn't and around he went. And this weekend apparently Casey's spotter went to go get a drink or something because there was no reason for that wreck to happen. It was just the two of them and Casey obviously came up on Jeff. And I'm a huge Casey fan, but that was completely his fault. It was a good weekend for Hendrick Motorsports, 1(Vickers) and 2(Busch) in the Busch race and 1(Labonte) and 3(Johnson) in the Cup race. Good job! Previous Thought....................Next Thought |
