Mr. Josh Phelps
Just one year removed from being rated Toronto's top minor-league
prospect by Baseball America, Josh's bat and ability to call a good
game should earn him a full-time job -- perhaps at catcher, or DH,
or both. Josh also played two games in 2002 at first base, which
gives the Blue Jays still another option. Josh split last season
between Triple-A Syracuse (.292-24 HR-64 RBI) and Toronto (.309-15
HR-58 RBI), and as usual displayed a short, powerful stroke which
allowed him to stay back and also handle breaking pitches.
