We in theCOPOUTCaput Party are dedicated to righting the miserable state of one of the most undeservedly discriminated-against, insulted, libeled, slandered, suppressed, oppressed minorities in the nation: insane people.
We are absolutely SICK AND TIRED of having Hitler and everything else--from the stupid plans movie writers foist off on their heroes to traffic tie-ups--blamed on us. Hitler was NOT insane, okay?? He was deranged. Deranged = bad. Demented = iffy. Insane = good. Got it? Insanity is a perfectly viable alternative lifestyle, and we feel that it is long past time insane people were let out of the suppressive asylums and allowed into the political arena. We couldn't do much worse than so-called "sane" (snigger) people, right? Look at the mess the world is in now! Trash all over the place; rainforests being destroyed; deranged lawsuits; an industry overrun by unskilled people who seem to have developed a taste for causing people mental pain and suffering (by which I mean the advertising industry); homeless people everywhere; and more, more than can be listed here.
A platform is still being worked out, but it will almost undoubtedly include sincere provisions for working toward a better environment and causing great pain to irritating advertisers.
UPDATE: As of March 28, 2004, the Citizens Ordering Pizza On Unscheduled Time off Party is no more. It has gone kaput. Actually it hasn't, it's just been renamed the Caput Party, but the above sounds more dramatic. Listeners always reacted negatively to "COPOUT", for some reason. Hopefully the new name will meet with greater general approval.
