God Bless America ______________________________________________________________________________ **It is amazing to me that we don’t want Bibles in schools, but we want God to bless America. We want the legal right to murder unborn babies, but we want God to bless America. We want the freedom to publish, and promote smut, but we want God to bless America. We want to keep on selling liquor that destroys families, and turns our busy highways into war zones; what is wrong with that picture? ** _____________________________________________________________________________ ** All this time we have been saying God Bless America. Just look around you… God has been blessing America. Now it is time for America to bless God! That is a great thought, but how do we bless God? Well, there are many ways, but I think I’ll only mention two ways… bless God by giving Him our praise, and bless God by giving Him our possessions. ** _______________________________________________________________________________ **If you have ever seen a dollar bill, then you should know that on the front is a picture of George Washington, but it is the back that is the most interesting. On the top it says United States of America, then underneath it is the word One, but you see there are four smaller words on the dollar that clearly say… In God We Trust. Do you have any idea of where those words came from?** _______________________________________________________________________________ ** Almost 400 years ago a group of people called pilgrims set sail for America so they could worship God freely. One of the groups came from Holland, sailing on the Speedwell, which was the sister ship of the Mayflower. On the main sail of the Speedwell was written the motto of the pilgrims, “In God We Trust, God With Us.”** _______________________________________________________________________________ **Our Founding Fathers had a reverent fear for the Lord. Because of that, they believed God’s word, and were obedient to it. They wanted to go to a land where they could live in freedom to obey God. A nation built on the Bible.** ______________________________________________________________________________ ** At the heart of the Mayflower Compact lay an undisputed conviction that God and His Word must be at the center of all the law and order, and that a law without a moral base is not really a law at all. For the next 200 years God was at the center of American culture. Bible scripture filled the textbooks that were used in school, and colleges taught their students the word of GOD! The Bible has never threatened America. It has helped build America.** _______________________________________________________________________________ ~What Would Our Founders Think Today?~ *They raised their children in righteousness… we murder ours before they are born! *They came here in the name of God… We’ve named our own Gods! *They stood up for morality…we have fallen down in immorality! *They promoted holiness… we publicize Homosexuality! *They sought for purity… we seek pornography! _______________________________________________________________________________ **America once legislated against the things God said were wrong. But we began to tolerate, then accept, then condone, and now we promote. Our Founders were people who believed the Bible. They would be heartbroken today, if they saw how our nation disregards God’s word. We need to remember God blessed America because they were obedient. I think that if we want God to bless America, we have to start acting as they did and take charge and stand up for what we believe is right!** _______________________________________________________________________________ **Today’s students are known as Generation X. Believe it or not, soon you will be Generation EX. The truth is this: Every generation seems to be morally weaker than the next. Sin has always been sin and it has always been practiced. But today is far more visible and vicious than ever. My great grandparents lived in a generation that feared God. My grandparents lived in a generation that respected decency and morality; my parents lived in a generation that produced a culture that stretch the boundaries to the breaking point and now I live in a generation that has no boundaries… what about generation next? Makes you think doesn’t it?** REMEMBER GOD BLESS YOU AND JESUS LOVES YOU!! :)
