The Story of Us

Though many couples meet and fall in love, and are miserable the rest of their entire lives, our story has not been the same. We met under agonizing torment. The product of a single act of indiscretion. We met during orientation in August of 2001. I fell in love with you the moment I met you. After belittling you, and yelling for what seemed like an eternity at actions that did not cause my torment in the first place, you still wanted to be around me. I would have thought you would be mad and not want to see me ever again.

Even though we had a rocky start, our friendship grew, to the point that we were inseparable, and did not do anything without the other. We went to places all the time, the laundry mat, the Dairy Queen, and Ingles. We had so much fun. We ended up going to the Christmas Banquet together at the end of November, and we had a pretty good time, except for getting lost. It turns out we drove around the building we were trying to get to for about five minutes but did not know that was it, because there was no sign. We left the Christmas Banquet, with the memory of you starting the first conga line in TFC history.

After we got back from the Christmas Banquet we stayed up all night watching movies together, and fell asleep together watching them. We awoke to Grandma on the walkie-talkies telling me to come in the house. You spent the night in the RV, and I came out and woke you up in the morning. We went back to school later that weekend, and you asked me “if I asked you out, what would you say?”. I said I would have said yes, and the conversation was dropped. I thought you just didn’t want to talk about it or something. Later, it was time for Winter Break. You came up, and stayed for my birthday, and I didn’t want you to leave, and I was praying that you would stay. That night, it snowed, and you could not leave. We spent the next day playing in the snow, in snowball fights, and walking around in the snow. I broke the gate by falling through it, and we both started laughing hysterically. It was hilarious. That night we were getting ready to watch Forrest Gump and you had gotten up to get a glass of water, and with the tune from it in the back ground, you asked me to start going out. I said yes, of course. We have been dating ever since.

I wanted to do this so you could see that I put in sooo much effort, because I don’t compute when it comes to this kinda stuff, and I had to put a lot of effort into it. I love you, and it is our anniversary, coincidentally. I thought this would be cute for you, and you would know how long it took me to do. I love you soooo much, and I am soooo glad we did start dating. I love you, and I know we will have many more anniversaries after now, but I wanted to tell you….

Happy Anniversary!!!
