I love Pokémon. No "The fad is over" or "It's just a game for kids" crap will keep me from playing it. I own ALL the games except for Pikachu is Fine (Hey You Pikachu in US. I rented it and absolutely adored it.) and Green and Ruby. These are great games. But I'm starting to feel that I am the only one that didn't play it because everyone else was, and that really disgusts me. I still collect Pokémon cards (though not as rabidly. I have Kyogre and Groudon, though. :P ) and I still watch the show, occasionally. I wish the show was more like Digimon (1st season.. it went downhill from there. I really miss that show. /_\) I have beaten all of the Games except Ruby, Crystal and Yellow (I usually get tired of them before the 3rd comes out.. always happens.. But I'm in the 5th Gym in Crystal.. I'll go back and play it after I beat Sapphire.) Most people that play the games hate to admit that they do.. But the games are great. They should end the show.. or only play it on Saturdays... or something, though. Some people from the G4 forums complain about the Top-Down veiw. How do you expect an RPG to look like? Most of them have a top down veiw. Zelda, although an Action/RPG, is the only one that comes to mind that doesn't have a top-down veiw. I'd like to see a storyline in the games, besides "Become a PKMN master!" But I don't play it for the story. I play it for the gameplay. My favorite of the series would have to be Blue or Sapphire. I like the color Blue. I didn't like G/S/C as much as the new ones. So the people that stoped after those don't know what they're missing. The new Pokemon are better, IMO. I just wish it had Smeargle. Maybe the PKMN Colleseum (sp?) will have unlockable PKMN.. Maybe you can get a complete set through it. I'd LOVE to see that. I still don't get the "Kiddie" comments. It requires strategy. Kids like it because of the creatures. They get good at the games. That doesn't mean that it was a game just for kids. No, there isn't any blood. Nintendo = Family Games (With a few exceptions.). I still go to Pokemon.com ALL THE TIME. I even spend hours of the day going through my COMPLETE POKEDEX (Blue and Gold versions :D :D ) and the Pokédex on Pokemon.com. Why? because my oppinion on things isn't altered by other people. At this rate I'll become unpopular to the point of being almost hated.. But, you know what? I DON'T CARE. If anyone can give me a reason for disliking Pokémon.. Please tell me. I'm not closed-minded. I'll listen. I know that some of the products suck, but they're directed at kids. Kids are their #1 target because they're not as playing the games to be popular.. I have a LONG story for you all. It's how Pokémon caused me to meet my BEST friend. I picked up Blue after watching the Exeggutor episode of Pokémon (how I remember that, I don't really know.). I was obsessed from the very beginning. After summer was over I started 3rd grade. The day I went to register, I ran into a kid I knew. We hadn't really talked much, but we had been in a class together the year before. So, we were standing by the frog pond (yes I said frog pond. Mrs. Hayes PWNS. I still go back and visit.) and I said "Have you played Pokémon?" And he replied "Yeah.. I have the red version. It's great." I had his phone number, and I called him. And we would talk about Pokémon for HOURS on end, and we still do. It soon led to other things, and we got to know each other. The next summer we spent almost every day together. He would spend the night at my house, and we would play Blue and Red until 5:00 in the morning, or until some one passed out. We used to love the show too, but then we realized the TR ALWAYS loses and that Ash rarely lost a Gym battle (except for the 3rd Johto one. God that was hard in the game.). It then got boring. But Digimon came out at the same time.. but that's another story entirely. I still watch the show every Saturday once and a while, because Wobbutfett PWNS! :P I still wonder why SSBM classifies him as "legendary." So, that's why Pokémon had a very special place in my heart, and if I had never played Pokémon, I never would have met my 1 true friend. Friends like Chris are HARD to come by. I'll edit if I think of more.
