"Alaska",
others may refer to it as,
"The
Land of the Midnight Sun"
or
"The
Last Frontier".
From the top of Mt. McKinley to the shores of the Bering Sea, The beauty
is unimaginable. This majestic land was once owned by Russia. In 1867,
the U.S. Secretary of State, William H. Seward, offered the Russian
government $7.2 million dollars or approximately two cents per acre for
Alaska. After the purchase from Russia, years later, Alaska was granted
its statehood on January 3, 1959 and officially became the 49th and the
largest state in the U.S.
