Stop The Slaughter, End The Abuse!!

I make this web page in honour to all those thousands of horses who have suffered a brutal and inhumane death. Many people have said to me that if i don't want any more nightmares about horse slaughter, i should just not think about. This is what many people do. They know it's happening but, because it is not a nice subject of thought they turn away. Just because people try to forget about it does not mean that it isn't happening. If people don't want to have to think about it why don't we do something. Everything happens for a reason right? And yet i write to anyone that may read this to join the campaign to stop horse slaughter. If your mind is not made up then maybe these pictures will help you.

Don't turn a blind eye to what is happening.

If you broke your leg beyond repair, would you family shoot you???

Please don't look at these pictures and think they are an exaggeration. These pictures try to look from a horses side of life. Yes, i admit that maybe some horses get lucky and are taken in to loving homes. But this is what the world sees. What we don't see is what we don't WANT to see. The pain, the suffering, the beatings if they don't do what they are told. If your young toddler didn't do what they were told would you beat them and have them murdered? Be realistic, huh?

Horses carried our men thoughout the war, thousands died for us, so why are we now killing them???

Who helped farmers before tractors???

How did people travel before cars???

Exactly, horses are humans best friends, would you murder your friend or the one you loved?? No, I didn't think so. STOP THE SLAUGHTER,END THE ABUSE!!

This is a serius crime that happens all over the world. I know you or I could never stop it happening throughout the whole world alone but maybe if other people beleived this then maybe it could be stopped, in England at least.

Maybe you look at this page and think, this looks like the dullest and most miserable page you have ever seen. It is not bright and funny with lots of happy pictures. I made it like this for a reason. Horse slaughter is not funny and I'm sure many horse lovers would agree with me.

A few years back my whole family betted on the grand national. Although my horse came second and i got a tiny prize back, afterward i fekt so guilty, why should a horse have to go throuh a death risk so that the nation can get a couple of quid? I sat and watch many horses fall.

Luckily none were seriously injured but if one had fallen and broken it's leg it might as well be falling to it's death.

If a horse breaks it's leg badly then people believe it would be less painful to be shot rather than have to wait for it to mend.Maybe it would never mend but still should it be killed? Was it the horses fault it fell or was it because the jump was to high? Did the horse say to it's owner that it wanted to go into a murderous race, I seriously doubt it.

If you ever get close enough to the starting gate of the grand national or any simalar races, look into the horses eyes. I tell you now, you will not see excitement, happiness or love, instead you will see fear, hatred and pain.

So, sit still and think for a minute..... dont move.. and ask yourself do you care? Or are you going to sit there on your lazy backside and do nothing... if you are all i can say is get off my web page right NOW.

All this horse wants is to be free. Why do you think horses are not born with their own personal whip. Could it possibly be because they are meant to be wild. If humans have horses can't they hug their horse. Love it as if it was their best friend.

Can you find it in your heart to help? Trust me. It doesnt matter how old you are you will never have watched the videos i have seen of horses being slaughtered.

horses should be free to run wild or in a home where someone loves them. Not in a home full of horror and death.

Please help... please please please.

Did you know that there are three slaughter plants in the USA that slaughter horses for Human consumption?

Who eats horses? The biggest consumers of horsemeat are France, Italy, Belgium, and Japan. Horsemeat, considered a delicacy, is used as an alternative to beef. This hurts the US beef industry. Japan regulates the amount of American beef imported into the country, but these regulations are not imposed on American horse meat. Eating horses has never been an accepted part of American culture.

What kind of horses are slaughtered? No horse is safe from slaughter. Children's ponies, show horses, family horses, retired show horses, or horses from families who just can't afford them any longer are all at risk of being slaughtered for human consumption. Stolen horses also often end up at slaughter houses. Slaughter is an easy way for a horse thief to make a quick $300-700 on a stolen horse and the evidence is destroyed. 90% of horses slaughtered for human cosumption are young, healthy, sound horses who deserve a better life.

What's the big deal anyway? Both the transport of horses to slaughter and the slaughter itself is inhumane. Equipment used in the transport of horses to slaughter is designed for cows. Horses often end up trampled and injured, even dead, while being transported 24 hours or more with no food, water, or rest. The equipment used to stun the horse before being slaughtered is also made for cows. Horses are often slaughtered while still consciously alive (2,500 or more horses met their fate this way last year alone).

What can you do? Contact your members of Congress and ask them to support The American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act. This bill will stop horse slaughter for human consumption in the USA as well as the transport and sale of horses across our borders for the purpose of slaughter for human consumption. Ask your Representative to become an original co-sponsor of this bill and help end the suffering of American horses to feed wealthy Europeans and Japanese. The 108th congressional session is over. HR 857, the 2004 bill, did not pass. HR 503 has been introduced in the current 109th congression session! It will ammend the Horse Protection Act to protect horses from horse slaughter for human consumption, including the sale and transportation of horses for the purpose of slaughter for human consumption.

How many horses are slaughtered each year? Each year an estimated 90,000 horses are slaughtered in the United States and processed for human consumption. In addition, many thousands of live horses are transported across the border to Canada for slaughter. After these horses are killed, their flesh is shipped to Europe and Asia for human consumption. Their owners are often totally unaware of the pain, fear, and suffering their horses endure before being slaughtered.

How do unwanted, surplus horses end up at slaughterhouses? Most horses destined for slaughter are sold at livestock auctions or sales. The cruelty of horse slaughter is not limited to the act of killing the animals. Horses bound for slaughter are shipped, frequently for long distances, in a manner that fails to accommodate their unique temperaments. They are usually not rested, fed, or watered during travel. Economics, not humane considerations, dictate the conditions, including crowding as many horses into trucks as possible. Often, terrified horses and ponies are crammed together and transported to slaughter in double-deck trucks designed for cattle and pigs. The truck ceilings are so low that the horses are not able to hold their heads in a normal, balanced position. Inappropriate floor surfaces lead to slips and falls, and sometimes even trampling. Some horses arrive at the slaughterhouse seriously injured or dead. Although transportation accidents have largely escaped public scrutiny, several tragic incidents involving collapsed upper floors and overturned double-deckers have caused human fatalities, as well as suffering and death for the horses.

How are the horses killed? Under federal law, horses are required to be rendered unconscious prior to slaughter, usually with a device called a captive bolt gun, which shoots a metal rod into the horse's brain. Some horses, however, are improperly stunned and are conscious when they are hoisted by a rear leg to have their throats cut. In addition, conditions in the slaughterhouse are stressful and frightening for horses.

While young children are watching and dreaming of Spirit, stallion of the cimmarom or black beauty, real horses are being herded into crowded trailers and hauled thousands of miles to die for profit. This is seven to eight hundred horses a week. The horses bleed to death, hanging upside down by one back leg. Stallions, mares, babies and pregnant horses whose unborn foals suffocate as the mother bleeds out, to be cut from the mother's womb as she is gutted. The flesh of baby horses is a delicacy over seas. If the slaughter house has it's way, the flow of terrified horses into the kill chute will continue, forced with shocks from electric cattle prods to go into the kill box, their nostrils flaring with the smell of the blood of the horses before themselves. Eyewitness reports and undercover videos show horses rearing and throwing themselves in terror, and agonizing injuries being inflicted before the horses are knocked down and hung to be butchered

i hope maybe now you are on my side if not then i sincerly hope i never meet you.

Now if you have a weak stomach, its best to not go any further, but it you are still not against horse slaughter then by all means the best thing for you to do is to carry on. The next pictures i am to show you are disturbing images of what really goes on inside a slaughter house.

This horse is dead, inside the chute. Its body will probably be left here for a few hours before it is taken out and then bled.

This is an image of a horse being 'bled out'. This is when its neck is slit down to the chin and then left until all its blood has drained out.

This is another way of killing the horse, the horse is hung upside down by its legs, which are usually broken by this point, the horses then suffocate to death and then are skinned, some horses are sometimes skinned alive and just unconsious!

This image is perhaps one of the most disturbing images of horse slaughter. This is a crate full of un-used horse heads. Many of these are purified and put into dog food.

This is a chilling image of a horse slaughter factory.. Could you work here?

This is a horrid image of a neglected horse, this horse was probably left alone in a field when its owner couldn't be bothered to look after it. After it had died its body was just left to rot. Could you have this in your garden?!

This beautiful horse was sold to a slaughter house from an auction and then shot and left to die in pain. This horse was probably eaten by a dog!

So after these images do you still believe this a nice life for these horses. I hope not. This is a sick sick crime against nature. GET THE HORSES OF THE TABLE AND INTO THE STABLE!

This sight holds a petition to stop horse slaughter. If you agree with what i have said then sign it! http://www.myhorsesite.com/petition/index.php, go to it, please, and sign the petition to end it.

Now i have a short message for those who work at the slaughter houses. How do you sleep at night, knowing that you took the lives of inocent horses. Frightened and beautiful animals were alive this morning, but when you arrived at work they met their fate. What did they do to deserve this, what did they ever do to you?? They did nothing. So tell me, is the money you are paid really worth it? Is it really worth giving up your life to regret and guilt and being guilty of MURDER?!And why is it that people can be arrested and locked up for harming a dog and yet we MURDER horses and no one bats an eyelid. This is the yearly amunt of horse slaughter for each country China 1,380,000 Mexico 630,000 Kazakhstan 375,000 Mongolia 250,000 Argentina 230,000 Italy 2,273

I have created another website where you can sign a petition to stop horse slaughter. Please sign it. The address is http://www.ipetitions.com/campaigns/Off_tables_and_into_stables/.
