Yuar’s heart was pounding out of his mind… his normally calm, expressionless green eyes now were like his sisters. It was a startling change… no longer were Yuar’s eyes green, but actually now they were a glowing, eerie crimson-red, full of hatred and murderous thoughts.

Lantis had egged them on, and when he made the comment towards the Link family… both Myra and Yuar had gone into a rage. The fight was long and tedious, as much as Lantis had been trained to fight- he was more of a coward.

His movements to strike a blow to Yuar were always blocked or glanced off, but Yuar could only managed to skin his surface- Lantis was good at avoiding attacks. Myra too was having this problem. It was rather pleasing to some extent for Yuar however, to see his dagger embedded into his right eye… blood dripping out like a swollen river overflowing. Lantis could not take the dagger out, for if he did… then he would bleed twice as much, and it would be the end of him.  Yuar was beginning to wonder how long this ongoing slaying would go… Yuar had a high extent of endurance… but with Lantis being rather psychotic and out of control, Yuar knew that anything could happen. But the last thing that Yuar would let happen, was he dying or Myra dying. Rudy…

Rudy… he was almost dead. Yuar did not know if Myra’s senses were as keen as he was, but he could sense Rudy was not fully dead. He was almost dead however… barely holding on, for his vampiric aura was dwindling and almost extinguished.

Don’t die on us Rudy… at least, you must stay for my sister. You are the only thing she truly trusts or wants.
Yuar thought, his eyes frowning in themselves… but Yuar could not think of his sister’s words. He had to kill Lantis.

Everyone was tiring, but then it seemed like a pure stroke of luck or perhaps, a bit of a miracle happened. Rudy… the young and impressionable Rudy, rose to his feet and with a strike of lightening he had delivered a crippling blow to Lantis.  It had happened so fast… and Myra and Yuar could only stop and watch, as a sword cleanly struck Lantis in the abdomen, and then was twisted. Lantis too seemed in shock, his face pale before… was now paler. Rudy took a leap back, and just when you wanted to hear Rudy say some thing courageous… he fell, exhausted. Lantis fell at that moment too, but he was not simply tired… he was going to die.  Yuar felt it then… he knew Lantis would now die.

Rudy’s aura was weak, but strangely this time it was not from death… but simply from being tired or over-worked. It seemed remarkable, and it was then Yuar knew what Rudy’s true strength was. Yuar understood that Rudy had some thing that vampires rarely ever had- that was unfathomable love.  Rudy had a soul, if you could say that about a vampire, that would not deter from his loved ones… or loved one. It was that which fueled Rudy to deliver such a blow to Lantis, and it was that which had always kept Rudy alive.

If only Gyvien would have discovered such a source of power…

Myra and Yuar stood there… seeing three bodies upon the ground. Rudy, simply tired and his vampiric body ordering him to gain at least some rest to heal his wounds and mind. Lantis… who was almost dead.. and Gyvien, who was indeed, dead.
Myra turned around and gazed at Lantis, as Yuar also turned and stood behind Myra.

It was ironic, and rather eerie that both brother and sister stood there, their eyes matching in color. Yuar did not know his eyes were still glowing a magnificent, eerie crimson-red… but it seemed rather haunting that it matched Myra’s. If anyone was there to see it, or if Myra was looking, they might have wondered why Yuar’s eyes had changed… and what it meant.

Only one vampire would have known, if she were there. For Yuar’s eyes had done this once before… and it was a disaster.

Lantis was upon the ground however, his eyes glazed and wild as blood poured from his wounds. Yuar’s gaze was pure hatred, as he secretly wished Lantis would have received more pain… more torture- but it seemed his sister had the same in mind. Yuar would have gone up to help her, gone up to aid in hurting Lantis… but back in his mind, a voice told him to let Myra do it upon her own. She was with this monster long enough, she needed to do this to overcome all her nightmares.

Besides, Yuar was still living in his.

He watched motionless, like a statue and Lantis begged for his life. He clenched his fists slightly… wishing his dagger  would have gone deeper and taken out his entire face. As Lantis begged for his life, tried to use his snake-like tongue to wield Myra into letting him live… Yuar wanted to rip out his throat with his bare hands, and chop out his tongue. Lantis’s words were always poison… it was his words which had caused everyone to believe lies- such as to cause Yuar to lose his life with his family, and words to deceive Myra and cause her to lose her family too. Instead, Myra simply placed her foot upon his chest and pressed hard… Lantis looked as if he was in real pain, and Myra then did an act which some how reeked Déjà vu all over. She ripped out his heart… and stated now that he was truly heartless.

Myra then threw the heart to the ground, and wiped the blood off her hand as if in a symbolic guesture. She then turned around and went straight to Rudy… bending down to him and placing her hands around his face, a tear streaming down her face. It was over… finally, it was over.

Yuar still remained standing, gazing down at Lantis. His face was full of his unreadable expression again… as he simply gazed at Lantis’s bloody, mutilated body. Shaking his head, as Yuar’s auburn hair rippled and waved with each flexing movement, he with drew a shaky breath. He then spoke, speaking to Lantis… his voice was quiet, but yet it seemed to spread like  a whisper upon the entire area… as Myra silently knelt beside Rudy.
“ Lantis… you did not receive half of what you deserved. It’s over now though, finally no one has to hear your cursed tongue anymore.  No one has to see your deathly face, no one has to fight you any longer… your nightmares have ended.  No one will carry on anything you started. No one will remorse your death, and no one will care. You are nothing,  and will always be nothing but  a lie.”

Although Yuar did not really pick up upon it, nor did he really think twice about it, a movement was in the air.  A heavy aura, a very powerful yet heavy aura flew above the battlefield through the air… a shadow would have cast gently upon the ground, if shadows had not hidden this one. It had been there the whole time… and now it left with the death of Lantis. No one could fathom what the presence was if they had sensed it… the only thing that was haunting about it, was that it was nearly identical to the ‘feel’ of the aura of Lantis.

Yuar with drew a breath, and bent down over Lantis’s body. Grabbing the black handle of his dagger, he slowly pulled it out of the head of Lantis with out much effort. Standing back up, Yuar gazed at the silver blade… it was full of crimson blood, of Lantis blood. Shaking his head slightly, Yuar quickly took a few steps away from Lantis- turning his back to his old mentor, and wiped off the blade with the fresh grass. When the blade was clean, Yuar turned to gaze at Myra and Rudy.

It was obvious they had exchanged a few words… for Rudy was awake, and they had an aura about the two of the. Yuar would have smiled… he would have, if his heart had not gone to ice and shattered.  There auras… they seemed to be intertwined together, and Yuar knew that Myra would no longer need Yuar.  Rudy, he was her new guardian.
Yuar turned away from them with no words, letting them to themselves… as he gazed at the body of Gyvien.

The pain was horrible…the wave of it took a relapse, and crushed Yuar.  Yuar dropped his dagger, and slowly took a few steps towards her lifeless body.  He did not understand how any powers above could let her live such a horrible life, to die just has horribly. Yuar wondered why Gyvien’s life seemed to be in vain…
“Why Gyvien…” Yuar whispered softly, as he simply knelt beside her, and gazed at her bloody, yet still beautiful body.

Yuar had never loved Gyvien the way Rudy loved Myra. It wasn’t that type of love…  Yuar had lost his sister twice- to Lantis, and then when he had failed to track Rudy.  When Yuar could not be with Myra… and he found Gyvien, it was as if he was trying to fulfill his duties of being a brother to Gyvien.  Gyvien had realized it as well, and although neither of them had talked about it… they both knew that they loved each other.  Yuar loved Gyvien like a sister, as Gyvien loved Yuar like a brother. It never even crossed their minds of their love being romantic- because their love was deeper then that. It was almost a parental love… and to Yuar, he had two sisters. To Gyvien, she had two brothers.

Now Yuar had lost her… just like his other sister.

A tear streamed down Yuar’s face… just a single drop. Yuar softly cursed himself.
“ I can’t cry…” He simply stated to himself, as he brought his hand to his cheek and quickly removed the tear. His eyes still were a crimson red… as they gazed in disbelief at Gyvien.

“Yuar?”

The time that had gone by while Yuar was sitting motionless by Gyvien, he did not know. At first he did not even move his head, his eyes seemed to be ever transfixed at either Gyvien or the ground… but finally, after another voice spoke his name, he slowly turned his head.  Gazing there, Myra and Rudy were gazing at him. Myra seemed to be helping Rudy stand. Both were bloodied and looked they had been to hell and back, and then some. Yuar probably looked the same way… but he could not see what his figure looked like to others.

“Yuar… the… th-the sun will rise soon.”  Myra stated, as if she was almost afraid to say this to Yuar. Yuar gazed at the ground… he knew what the sentence meant. The sun would turn them all to a pile of ash if they stood here much longer. They all could sense the sun would be rising soon… and chances were, that they really didn’t want to spend the night on a ship, which used to belong to Lantis.  Yuar turned to look at Gyvien…

“I can’t leave her.”
He spoke, to them… but almost to himself as well.  He knew he had to go, but he didn’t just want to leave her here… he knew he could carry her body- but for some reason, it didn’t seem right to tamper with her body.

“…I-I…”
Tears filled Yuar’s face as he gazed at her… his hands were shaking, as inside his mind seemed to be burning. Half of him told him to leave her… the other half said to stay. Yuar struggled with himself… he was losing his composure he knew, and he was ashamed to be this way. He couldn’t help it though… he didn’t understand why he was … was so affected this way. It never had happened this badly before… he was so used to being calm, full of composure.

“Yuar-“

“I can’t do it!”  Myra had tried to say some thing, but Yuar interrupted her. Squeezing his eyes slightly, another tear fell down his face as he turned to face them… the feeling, the very feeling that her body was behind him stabbed at him as well. Swallowing, Yuar clenched his fists again… he felt like a child, who did not know how to express himself to show his displeasure.

“She’s gone… but…” Yuar sighed, still shaking slightly, while gazing up at Myra and Rudy’s faces. For the first time in his life, he couldn’t read what they were thinking…
“ … I will never come to believe it. She wasn’t meant to die!!”
Yuar was shouting, and he didn’t know why- everyone could hear him quite well, and here he was shouting.

You fool, you are acting like a child. Get a hold of yourself… why are you acting so foolish?! She’s gone! Move on!

A voice spoke to him in his mind, and Yuar slowly turned to gaze one long last look at Gyvien.
“I failed her… its all my fault. I failed… again.”
He spoke, as he shook his head and finally turned to face Myra and Rudy again. Taking a few staggering steps towards them, he slowly bent down and picked up his dagger that he had dropped upon the ground. Gazing at the dagger… he shook his head.  He remembered when he had given Gyvien a dagger just like his… she was just a little dampiel girl, and the dagger was about the size of her forearm. He told her to keep it safe… for the dagger he had given her, was the twin dagger to his own.

“The Night” and “The Day”- that was what they were truly called by the Ancient Vampires who had wield them. Wiccan magick had been carved into the metal, which had been used to make both of them.  There were many legends about each dagger… and Yuar had been given both of them long ago.  It was said even, that if both daggers were together and used in harmony, they could bring about unbelievable powers.

It didn’t matter anymore… Yuar had the dagger, “The Night”, and he was not about to remove a weapon from a fallen warrior… especially Gyvien.

Reaching Myra and Rudy, Yuar gazed at them and without saying a word, he gazed at the ground… he wished the pain he felt would disappear.

Gyvien…
Looking at Rudy, the name attacked him and hurt him deeply.
Gyvien…
Looking at Myra, it attacked him again…
Gyvien- everything, he still couldn’t shake the thought of her body being dead, he couldn’t stop the thought of ‘what if…’

“Gyvien… I love you.” Yuar softly whispered, closing his eyes painfully.
“Let’s g-“

Just as Yuar was about to leave- leave everything this night had done to him, Rudy and Myra’s eyes grew huge.
“What-“ Rudy weakly gasped.

Yuar grasped his dagger at his side and didn’t bother looking at where Rudy and Myra were gazing. HE didn’t want to see Gyvien anymore… he couldn’t take the pain.  He kept walking past them…
“Yuar! Look!”
Rudy called out, but Yuar shook his head.
“I don’t want to be remin-“
“Look!”
“No. I will-“
“For God’s sake Yuar, if you won’t look then just gaze at your dagger!” Myra finally called out, and Yuar stopped shortly.

His dagger?

Slowly he brought his right hand up, and his eyes widened. The dagger… it was, glowing?! The dagger seemed to pulsate and hum with life, as a bright, almost eerie shade of purple swirled in and around the dagger. It almost looked as if the dagger was on fire- for it had an aura of purple that looked like the hungry flames of a fire- licking at the air wildly as if having tentacles. Yuar was dumbfounded… and the dagger seemed to pull backwards, against Yuar.

Yuar let go of the dagger, and for a second he was utterly shocked. The dagger hovered in midair… until suddenly it flew past him, behind him in the direction of Myra and Rudy. Swallowing hard… Yuar turned around, and this time he saw why they had wanted him to look.

Gyvien’s body was motionless, but next to her was the other twin dagger, glowing the same way his dagger had except it was a illuminating a color of light, innocent-traced blue. She had kept the dagger all this time by her side….

Both daggers now hovered in midair… next to each other, as if they had minds of their own and were discussing some thing.  They swirled around each other slowly.. and  while doing that, they moved so that they were over Gyvien’s head. After a brief period, as flecks and almost snowflake-like bits of color flew from the dagger’s own aura, the daggers then flew to Rudy and Myra. There, they hovered above them… and then the daggers flew to Yuar. Instead of hovering over his head however, both daggers swirled around his head at eye level… as if…trying to read his thoughts.

Yuar was paralyzed as he stood frozen, Myra and Rudy saying some thing to him but Yuar could not hear their words. Then the daggers flew away from Yuar again… back to Gyvien. But this time, they did not return to Yuar.

Instead, the daggers began to swirl faster and faster above Gyvien’s motionless body, until they were nothing but a blur together- an intermixture of purple and blue, a  mixture of night and day.  The daggers were swirling about so swiftly they almost seemed to melt into one dagger… as the colors they had swirled around them seemed to grow like a tornado and it consumed Gyvien’s body. A slight wind began to form as leaves rose off the ground and everyone’s hair swayed in the wind.  Gyvien’s own hair swirled around her face… as the colors grew brighter and brighter- piercing the night like a beacon in the darkness.

Then as swiftly as it happened, it stopped. The colors slowly faded so only sparkles of them remained, and the daggers no longer were there. Instead, one dagger remained- only, it was a large sword. The blade was twice as big and nearly five times longer, with the handle no longer being black… but it was like a clear jewel, inside of it marble-like patters of purple and blue. Upon the blade was the symbol of the moon and the sun… with four stars in the middle.  The blade then swiftly flew to Yuar and then dropped at his feet. Just as Yuar was about to pick it up… suddenly movement caught his eye.

Gyvien… ?

A groan was heard, as slowly her head turned, and she slowly brought a shaky hand to her face and brushed a strand of loose hair away from her face.  Yuar’s eyes widened…
“GYVIEN?! Gyvien!”
Rudy suddenly burst out, as Myra and him both went to Gyvien’s side although Rudy needed some aid… he some how found strength to return to his sister.

Yuar remained still… standing and gazing in disbelief. The daggers… they… how… how did they do this?

"… and the blades of the daggers, “Night” and “Day” were formed from the same blade of the ancient sword known as, “Time” and by the hands of four  powerful and ancient vampires.  They were separated, but since each held the same magick and the same soul was bound to both… it was proclaimed that one day, they would reunite when they once again were used in harmony. When and only when they were used in harmony and four pure souls were present and tightly bound to symbolize the bind between the two dagger’s blades, would they be reunited. Once they have been reunited, the four souls would be strengthened and a new day will dawn of a new era…. "

A voice suddenly spoke those words… her voice haunting, yet soothing all the same and in a way- strangely comforting. Out of the shadows- seemingly out of no where, Vylianne came forth, her arms loosely by her sides, as she gazed at Yuar, and then the blade.
“ That is what the Legend states. I guess it’s true… this means, that the sword before your feet is the reincarnation of the ancient sword long ago. I would never have thought that the power of reunited a sword would have brought a soul back from the dead… I suppose it means that Rudy is healed as well.”

Vylianne turned her gaze away from Yuar, to gaze at Gyvien and Rudy.
“ They now will realize how their souls were meant and bound to be sister and brother, just like the daggers- they were meant to be of the same family.”
Vylianne shifted her gaze to Myra… and softly she spoke..
“Perhaps it is time that the Royal Link family reunites as well…”
