ICT is used in mainly in all curriculum areas in the school but the main focus of delivery of National curriculum ICT is in the ICT Department where the breakdown of the time allocation is as follows:

Years 8 and 9 have a single period of ICT per week.
Year 8 students are taught to work at levels 2 to 6.
Year 9 students are taught to work at levels 2 to 7.

The levels are only guidelines and students are encouraged to work at higher levels than stated if they demonstrate the ability and the capability.

In years 10 and 11, students who opt for ICT courses are given the opportunity to be entered for the full 6 units GNVQ or the Part 1 GNVQ units and from September 2002 the new Vocational GCSE in Applied ICT will replace the Part 1 GNVQ units
