Year 7 - In year 7 pupils follow
a programme of study including the following themes; An introduction
to the themes through local geography and the basic skills, weather
and climate in Britain, settlement and water supplies.
Year 8 - In year 8, pupils will follow a
programme of study including the following themes:
Geomorphologic processes (weathering and erosion, especially
the work of rivers),
The Ecosystems of Equatorial Rainforest, Economic and population.
Year 9 - In year 9 pupils will follow a programme
of study including the following themes:
Tectonics (earthquakes and volcano), Environmental issues, Economic
development, plus Japan and Brazil.

Year 10 - In year 10 the specification
for the AQA Geography B is based on the study of The United Kingdom,
The European Union, The Wider World and Global Issues. Students
are expected to acquire knowledge and understanding of a range
of places, environments and geography patterns at local, regional
and national scale. The study of the UK includes: River Basins
and their management; Farming, food and the environment; tourism
in a glacial Environment; Electricity Generation; The Location
of Manufacturing Industry and Understanding the Modern Urban Environment.
The study of the EU includes: Rich and Poor Regions in the EU;
Farming in Southern Italy; Tourism in Spain and the Development
of the European Core. The study of the Wider World includes Amazonia,
The Ganges Deltas and Japan. Global issues including Population
Growth, Aid and Global Warming. Coursework is a geographical enquiry,
which is based on fieldwork.
