Dale and Michael quickly found themselves in the one city, the one track that changed their lives every time they returned. They faced Speed Weeks wondering if this year would be any different. They had gotten there early to prepare themselves for the two weeks leading up to the biggest race of the season. Only a few other teams had already arrived giving Michael and Dale a little extra privacy and time to themselves before the media arrived.

Late one evening they were headed back to Michael’s coach when they heard moans coming from the next hauler over. "What was that?"

"Well I can tell you what it sounded like." Dale grinned as they walked around the corner to find Steve Park with his head buried in Robby Gordon’s crotch. "Holy fuck."

Steve about choked as Robby quickly pulled away and stumbled trying to get his clothes back on. "Um." Michael said not sure of what else to say. He was in shock as was Dale and unbeknownst to them a whole new world was about to open to both of them.

"Michael, Dale, um, shit. We were just." Steve said jumping to his feet quickly and causing Robby to trip backwards.

"Son of a bitch." Robby yelled as he hit the ground with a thud.

"Robby." Steve was quickly by his side helping him up and noticing the trickle of blood run down the back of his neck.

Steve quickly tossed his keys to Dale. "Open the door."

Steve helped Robby in as Michael grabbed a towel and some ice and carried it back to the bedroom. Michael then grabbed Dale’s arm pulling him out of the room. Their eyes met as the bedroom door closed behind them. "I don’t fucking believe this." Dale said. "Robby and Steve?"

"Yeah, I don’t know what to say." Michael looked dumbfounded.

"You can start by promising you won’t tell anyone." Steve said as he came out of the bedroom.

"How is he?" Junior asked.

"He’ll live, gonna have one hell of a headache for a few days but doesn‘t look like he needs stitches." He eyed Michael and Dale. "Well?"

"Of course we won’t say anything." Michael said. "How long have you two been together?"

Steve sat on the couch and sighed. "Look, I think we all are in the same boat here." He looked up to them as Dale sat looking suddenly paler than usual. "Aren’t we?"

They were silent for a moment before Michael spoke up. "Yeah, we are." He laid a hand on Dale’s shoulder and Steve half grinned amused that he had been right all along.

"Thought so." Steve laughed. "Jeff will be thrilled." Steve noticed Dale and Michael’s shocked expressions. "Yes Gordon, you’d be surprised if you knew the truth. Some of the girlfriends and wives know others don’t. That‘s why we have to keep it quiet, well, that and the whole media thing."

"Wives? Who else?"

"Jeff and Amanda have joined in, Kevin and De, Matt has but Katie doesn’t know."

"Matty?" Junior asked shocked.

Michael caught the interest in Dale’s voice at the prospect of Matt. "What do you mean joined in?"

"We have our get-together’s, you never know who is going to show up."

"Wow. I had no idea." Michael said. They heard Robby groan from the backroom. "Look we are going to get out of here, leave you two alone."

Steve stood and walked them to the door. "You guys are more than welcome to join us sometime if you like. Daytona is usually an interesting trip." Steve grinned.

"You can say that again." Dale muttered before heading out and back to Michael’s coach.

They were silent as they entered the coach. Neither knew what to say. Dale sat on the couch and watched Michael as he moved around the coach putting things away. "Would you want to?"

"Want to what?"

"Join them."

This stopped Michael in his tracks. "What?"

"I don’t know, I just am shocked that they all are together. I mean Kevin and De and Matt?"

Matt? Michael was seeing a pattern forming. "June, you want to?"

"I don’t know, I had never thought about it but it is intriguing." He saw Michael’s face. "Wait, I didn’t mean I would rather have them. I love you so much, it just caught me off guard. Never mind."

"No, it’s ok, I agree it’s an interesting thought. I don’t know maybe. It would just be like a threesome, which I had with Buffy, so it shouldn’t be any different."

"What? Buffy agreed to that, tell me about it." Dale pulled Michael onto the couch next to him and snuggled deep into his arms as they talked about their previous sexual encounters throughout the rest of the evening.

They woke the next morning in each others arms. "So, you want to do this, we could talk to Steve today."

"Yeah, but only if you are ok with it and maybe not everyone just the three of us."

"Like I said it’s a threesome no big deal." Michael was relieved that he wasn’t pushing the Matt thing. He would be ok with Steve but he always thought there was a connection that could easily slip from friends to more with Matt and Dale.

"Yeah, no big deal." Junior kissed Michael before heading to the bathroom. Michael watched him go and had to admit the idea of Steve and Dale really turned him on but didn’t this go against what they had been fighting. They were in love not gay, didn’t this contradict everything they had been preaching to everyone? Michael suddenly had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.

They found Steve in the garage area later that morning and decided that now was as good of a time as any. "Hey Steve, how is Robby?"

"Sore, but ok."

"We got to talking last night and wanted to talk to you."

Steve had a feeling what was on their minds and led them to a quiet area outside the garage. "What’s up?"

"We were, um, thinking."

"About your offer, only we don’t want the group thing, the less people who know the better."

He eyed the two of them. Dale stumbled over his words and Michael looked somewhat uneasy. "Sure, I understand, what did you have in mind?"

"Just the three of us."

Steve looked from Michael to Junior, it was a very intriguing offer and Robby was out of commission for a day or so with a migraine. "Sure, my place, tonight. 8 pm." With that Steve walked away.

They met at Steve’s at 8 and although they were nervous they were just as excited. Steve was also just as excited he had wanted them for along time especially Michael. He felt bad that Robby was being left out but this was Michael. He answered the door and let them in offering them a drink. "Have a seat guys."

"Thanks." Dale said taking the beer that was offered to him.

"We really don’t need any small talk here, do we?" He leaned down and ran his tongue along Dale’s jaw.

Dale was caught off guard for a second but quickly recovered as his tongue disappeared into Steve’s mouth. Michael felt a twinge of jealousy at first but quickly found himself turned on by the scene unfolding in front of him. He suddenly felt a hand run up his thigh cupping his groin and gently squeezing. He took a deep breath and tried to slow his body down.

Dale and Steve pulled away from one another and as if reading the other’s thoughts they both turned to Michael. Steve squeezed slightly harder letting Michael know that this was really happening as Dale captured his lips with his own.

"Let’s go to the back." Steve whispered as he led them to the bedroom. Once there he turned and pulled Michael’s shirt over his head, he then turned to Dale and did the same. "Am I gonna have to do all the work all night?" He laughed as his hands found the button and zipper to Dale’s jeans.

"No." Steve suddenly felt Michael’s mouth on his neck and felt his hands slip under his shirt. As Michael’s hand teased Steve’s skin he pulled the shirt up and off his body. They quickly undressed each other the rest of the way and the three of them made their way to the bed.

Michael lost track of who was who, he just felt unbelievable as Steve’s mouth moved down his body and he pulled Dale into his arms. Dale kissed Michael passionately forgetting for a moment that Steve was even there. Michael gasped into Dale’s mouth and Dale heard Steve. "God I have wanted you for so long."

Dale took in what Steve had just said and watched as Michael’s cock disappeared into his mouth. "Oh God Steve." Michael moaned and Dale rolled away from him slightly. He watched for a moment and was beginning to realize he didn’t need to be here anymore. This was never about him, it was always about Steve wanting Michael.

Lost in the guilty pleasure of each other’s bodies, neither Steve nor Michael felt Dale move off the bed. He backed up against the wall trying to press himself into it to disappear. He felt like a trapped animal not able to escape the sights and sounds of his lover with another. The pain, jealousy, and anger all hitting him at once. He wanted to yell out for them to stop but he was paralyzed. Anyway, he had agreed to this, it was his idea, they were all friends, it shouldn’t have been a problem.

Dale wanted to look away but couldn’t as the scene on the bed mesmerized him. His mind started reeling as he watched Steve swallow Michael’s cock repeatedly. "Oh God." He watched as Michael’s head thrashed on the bed, heard the moans that were suppose to be his. "Steve that is amazing." Hearing Michael call out another’s name was more than he could take. He grabbed his clothes not able to get out of there quick enough.

Michael couldn’t believe the sensations coursing through his blood. "June, baby, kiss me." He turned his head towards him and reached out when Dale never did. His eyes shot open as he felt nothing but an empty bed. "Dale?" A movement caught his eye and he turned to see Dale pulling on his shirt and quickly running down the hall. "June?" He heard the door slam and was up and grabbing his clothes before Steve was even completely off of him.

Steve watched as the pleasure in Michael’s eyes turned to fear and he dressed as quickly as he could. Michael was half way down the hall when he stopped and turned back to Steve. "Steve, shit." He leaned against the wall his chin dropping to his chest and his shoulder’s slumping. He didn’t know what to do. "Steve, I…"

Steve wrapped the sheet around his waist and joined Michael in the hall. "It’s ok, I didn’t see it before but I do now." Steve lifted Michael’s chin, forcing him to look him in the eye. "You guys aren’t doing what we are." Michael looked confused. "At the end of the day we go home to our families, our wives, our girlfriends; you? You go home to each other." Steve cupped Michael’s face in his hands. "Don’t get me wrong, I would love to finish this," He let his lips linger on Michael’s for a moment. As he pulled away Michael ran his hand through his hair and pulled him back to his lips.

Steve smiled as he finally pulled away. "You like that?" Michael just nodded still not opening his eyes, the guilt suddenly more than he could stomach. "But you would like it more if it was Dale." He said plainly.

He opened his eyes. "I can’t lose him. Everything I am is…"

"Don’t, go tell him, not me. Go to him and don’t look back at any of us. None of us could ever be what he already is." Michael ran his hand down Steve’s cheek and gave him an apologetic look. "Go." Steve whispered. Michael turned and ran out the door without looking back.

Michael noticed how dark and quiet Dale’s coach was, he tried the door but it was locked. He knocked softly. "June?"

Dale thought about unlocking the door, all he really wanted was for Michael to hold him and tell him it would be alright, even if it was just a lie. Instead, he didn’t move, he just stared at the door waiting for him to use his key.

Michael unlocked the door and slowly stepped into the living room, his eyes quickly scanning the room for Dale. He walked towards the hall. "June?"

"I’m over here."

Michael sighed half out of relief of finding him and half out of fear and hesitation. He turned towards the voice and found Dale sitting on the floor his back against the wall. "You ok?"

"Yeah, just fine. Thanks for asking."

He winced at the edge in his voice. He knew everyone was better off when you left him alone in these moods but he also knew that if he left now it would be forever. He slid down the wall and they sat in an awkward silence for several minutes before Michael decided they had to hash this out, whatever the outcome might be. "June? What happened back there?"

Dale sighed. "I don’t know. It was just too much. That’s not what I want." He stood and walked to the kitchen grabbing another beer. He sat it on the table instead of drinking it and turned to Michael who had followed him. "Look, Mikey just go. There isn’t anything you can get here that you can’t get with him, with any of them." Dale said sadly turning away from him.

Michael grabbed Dale and pulled him into a searing kiss. Dale’s hands automatically went into Michael’s hair pulling his head even closer. Michael’s hand slid down Dale’s back to his ass as the other held him firmly against his body, resting at his neck. Finally he pulled away leaving Dale feeling lightheaded. He held Dale against him but kept him so he could look in his eyes. "Your wrong. Anything I could ever want is right here. You are the only reason I have even survived these past several months. I don‘t want anything or anyone else." He kissed him on the forehead and reached past him grabbing the beer off the table. "You told me you were ok with it, that you wanted it. Don’t ever lie to me again."

Dale nodded knowing he brought all this on himself. He watched Michael sit on the couch and smiled slowly as he turned, grabbed a beer, and sat next to him on the couch. Michael reached over pulling Dale into his side as he hit the power button on the remote. CMT came on bringing the dark room to life. Dale laid his head on Michael’s shoulder as Tim Mcgraw came onto the screen.

I never had no one
I could count on
I’ve been let down so many times
I was tired of hurtin’
So tired of searchin’
’til you walked into my life
It was a feelin’
I’d never known
And for the first time
I didn’t feel alone

Dale listened to the beginning of the song as he traced circles on Michael’s thigh. "Mikey?"

"Yeah."

"Are we going to be able to do this? I mean it seems every time things start going like we want them too something is thrown in our way. Something to stop us, some major consequence that we didn‘t foresee."

You’re more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Every time I look at you
I don’t know where I’d be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend, oh yeah

Michael looked down at Dale. "I know, but I also know that I love you and lets face it, everyone knows now and I’m sure the worst is over. It has to be." Michael said. "Are you sure you have thought this through?" Dale looked up at him at the uncertainty in his voice. "I mean, it won’t be easy in any sense, you aren’t going to have a normal life. What about kids? I know you want them, want a son. June, this is real, we have to make sure this is what is the best for everyone involved. You have more to lose than I do."

You stand by me
And you believe in me
Like nobody ever has
When my world goes crazy
You’re right there to save me
You make me see how much I have
And I still tremble
When we touch
And oh the look in your eyes
When we make love

"The only thing I have worth losing is you." Dale said as he leaned up softly brushing his mouth against Michael’s. Michael pulled Dale onto his lap never breaking the kiss. His hands ran up his back to his neck.

You’re more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Every time I look at you
And I don’t know where I’d be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend

"I love you, June, I always have, I always will."

You’re more than a lover
There could never be another
To make me feel the way you do
Oh we just get closer
I fall in love all over
Every time I look at you
And I don’t know where I’d be
Without you here with me
Life with you makes perfect sense
You’re my best friend
You’re my best friend (my best friend)
You’re my best friend (my best friend)

Dale stood pulling Michael with him. He grabbed the remote turning the television off then tossing it to the couch. He led Michael to the back of his coach, to the bedroom. He pulled him on to the bed with him and realized that this was what he wanted what he needed. Looking into those blue eyes he saw it, his future, his life, he knew everything would somehow fall into place, exactly where it should be.
