Tomorrow is Your Birthday

I try to push the blues away
Thinking of things to do .
Yet, I am ever motionless
I can only think of you .

I think if sleep would take me
Covering my thoughts in black .
Then I will stop remembering
You won't be coming back .

Sleep brings me no comfort
I weep in every dream .
I see you , but Can't touch you
As you wave goodbye to me .

From my bed I bolt
Running to your room .
With trembling voice , I call to you
Or is this a dream too?

No reassuring voice calls back to me....
Sweetie , Are You Alright ?
Just nothing echoes in the air
Again...Alone to face this night .

Tomorrow is Your Birthday , Mom
Another one Not spent with me .
Time hasn't made things easier
From the Heavens I know you see .

I look into the mirror
Into some new strangers eyes .
Aged and Old and sunken
From All these tears I've cried .

I don't count the birthdays
Nor holidays of each year .
I Only count the moments
Till I can Hold You Near .

If you could just reach down from heaven
One more Night just cradle me .
Lull me to sleep with your gentle voice
My tortured mind might be free .

Today, I will search for flowers
Perfect ones for where you lay .
I will place them softly on the ground
For your special day.

Tomorrow is Your Birthday , Mom
Another one Not spent with me .
Time hasn't made things easier
From the Heavens I know you see .
